About this deal

Update 1
Updated

Hi all, i've previously collated some offers/freebies on video offers, and as more and more paid for streaming services increase costs and/or added adverts into their models, thought it would be worthwhile collating again, sharing new offers, info and freebies.

Obviously most know about BBC iPlayer, ITVX etc but below are the 'main' streaming offers, some which currently have some offers, so hopefully save you some cash along the way also!

If i've missed any workarounds /offers/codes on the ones below, please comment and i'll review, when i can.

Thanks in advance

Also huge credit to those members who've posted said offers!

Please remember to cancel, before your trial is up otherwise you'll be charged. Unless of course, you want to keep the service(s)

Note: Please avoid mentioning about 'Sailing the Seven Seas' or Illegal streams/IPTV etc as this will very likely get removed, as goes against rules/terms.

Strongly recommend NOT taking out a sub with Mubi

I foolishly bought it as a gift for a friend.
Tried the free trial and didn't use it once, not a single movie streamed.
Completely forgot on account of having a life at the time.
2 years later noticed recurring charges, and they would ONLY refund 2 months!

They were "kind" enough to gift the balance to that same friend so someone would actually get use of the credit.

    Horrible company.

So you subscribed, forgot you subscribed and didn't like being charged a subscription fee? That's wild

There were a few articles saying Amazon are going to remove Freevee because of a conflict with their new ad-supported model. However, this has now been directly contradicted by Amazon.

If you use a VPN I use protonvpn for free and have used Tubi a lot lately quite a good catalogue of films and series on there been watching it a lot tbh. Ok it's ad-supported but doesn't get many ads tbh.

I wish that there was a simple app that collected all the apps in one complete with TV guide, I know freeview is doing one, so all the free channels like bbc/itvx & 4 will eventually all be in one place, but I mean an app that’s not That’s not Plex or kodi and simple as Sky q’ tv guide. But there again I suppose that’s close to regular TV again.something standardised (edited)

I ditched Sky about a year ago and got a Freesat box-wish I'd done it sooner
CEX has an A grade Freesat box for £100( non recordable)
It's not perfect but it's comparable to Sky
Live TV, EPG, all the normal streaming services
It was a no brainer for me.... (edited)

Heat added OP good effort post

Tesco Clubcard also has Disney+ Standard With Ads, £7.50 of your Tesco Clubcard vouchers for 3 months access. Worth mentioning for those without enough Clubcard vouchers for the higher standard tier or those wanting to save some £'s and are fine with ads - I have this ready to use from when my current Premium subscription expires on May 9th 2024.

Also, on the Disney+ website, it says that for changing to a higher tier plan "You will be charged a pro rata amount for the first month or year of your new plan, minus the amount of the remainder of your previous payment period. After that, you will be charged the new price on a monthly or yearly basis for the life of your subscription from the next payment date." - does anyone know if this applies when using a prepaid Tesco Clubcard 3 months access code or will the higher plan just kick in and be charged once the 3 months have finished?

Can anyone please advise what the Disney+ ads are like? Netflix ads look like this:

    52277789_1.jpg
As much as I despise paying for adverts, I honestly don't find the Netflix ads that bad. Last night I was hit with a 30 seconds advert throughout a 1 hour show.

Does Disney+ show you when ads are scheduled? Netflix has some yellow markers on the progress bar (see in image below) - I have no idea what these are for. I assumed they were for scheduled ad breaks but I didn't receive a single advert during the session this screenshot is from!

For ad free YouTube and rumble etc... in one app try grayjay it was set-up with Louis Rossman who advocates free speech and right to repair, he calls out the big companies like Apple, Lenovo etc... when they charge people crazy money for repairs. The app is free but if you can afford it do donate

    https://grayjay.app

You can also use invidious servers, and even add it to front ends. Like freetube etc...

    Railway.
Italian TV in Italian language. It can be used as a get around for certain premium rated sports events. It would show Tour de France live, whereas BBC only had highlights, or Sky wanted a second mortgage.
    .
    Xumo play.
Works on android for sure. Requires US location.
    .
    Tubi.
Requires US location, and turning off your adblocker. If using Surfshark then you have to turn off CleanWeb.

I don't need any of these but it's interesting timing seeing this thread given YouTube have finally caught up to myself and many others in regards to VPN usage and payment methods. I can no longer use any other country at all for YouTube Premium, which is a shame because it's the most expensive subscription if I were to pay for it in local currency.
    bazray's avatar
Have you tried wirex, I have an Argentina sub and wirex has worked for me for a couple of years. Wirex are not a bank and the card is prepaid but they are used in many countries, they also do virtual cards and crypto. YouTube premium is costing me just over $1 a month, partly due to the peso collapsing. As always you must renew card details using a VPN of the country you subscribe in, Google may detect some VPN's so try a few if needs be.

Different Netflix catalogues available by using VPN ( I use Windscribe) . Minimum 4 differing regions to choose from with huge catalogue.

You could also use Windscribe's sister product ControlD.com and just set Netflix to be in the USA

All the services seem to be degrading in quality over time - poorer content diluted across multiple platforms, increased adverts, higher prices. No doubt many people will just turn off or resort to pirate services.
    DeAtHaToMiC69's avatar
These days if a service is over £6 a month I just find a free stream of what I want to watch...
Greed, that's all it is... Places like Netflix have no need to charge more, they are multi million pound corporations.

For some reason they think we want these wokey rehashed poorly done Netflix shows and want to charge people extra to watch...

And as for adverts, these services are turning into the very same thing they were designed to compete with.

I can recommend Streamlocator for Android/FireTV if you are visiting from the USA and are unable to watch live Formula One with your valid USA F1TVPro subscription here in the UK. You may have found that a regular VPN was working when you visited the UK in previous years but during the 2023 season F1TVPro blocked almost all VPNs from working.

Just noticed Now TV offers, some do have a 6 month minimum term (as you have already mentioned in this post). It somewhat annoys me as Now TV has always been great for being able to cancel anytime with monthly plans. To me, it seems like they're doing it to make up for people signing up and cancelling every month for retention offers. Each to their own though (edited)
    themachman's avatar
They know most people cancel after a couple of months ( like me)
Not had it for a few years now due to the sheer ads on there

Worth noting, I have Virgin Broadband and got a stream box off them which enabled me to add TNT Sports for £10 a month.
Think there may have been a £35 activation fee also but far and away it's the cheapest way to get it if you have Virgin Broadband without any extra costs.

The misses loves watching American home renovation programmes like 'fixer to fabulous' and 'Bargain Mansions'.

Does anyone know if any of the steaming services mentioned above have those on, like paramount plus or discovery+ for example.

We have a VPN so can change location to USA, just need to know which service they are on before I sign up.
    KangTC's avatar
Discovery+ is basically full of shows like this (including these), no VPN required.
  25. Glynevans101's avatar
I don't think it was quite clear that Crunchyroll does actually have a completely free tier as well. It is ad supported but other than that it seems to have the full library, just not the simulcasts.
    reviewsUK's avatar
The full library is NOT available on the free tier. Some shows are limited to the first season, some shows are limited to the first few episodes (seasonal sampler).
