About this deal

Update 1
Credit for the below info

EE is sending out 5G SIM cards that are incompatible with some handsets, particularly Samsung, so please be mindful of this before switching over

With Plusnet now being wrapped up, EE are now giving Plusnet customers a chance to get a 1 month sim (Very rare to get a good deal on 1 months sim with EE) via the get deal link, you will need to be an existing Plusnet customer with a unique code to access these

Possible 6 month apple music available (Free Apple Music for 6 monthsAll our 30-day SIM plans come with 6 months of free access to Apple Music - that's a saving of over £59.)

4307558_1.jpg
This is an EE essentials plan with a 100mbps speed limit, but like i say, only 1 month, so if it is no good for you, then you can move after that one month

  • What data speeds can I expect?
All of these plans come with maximum data speeds of 100 Mbps. This means you can enjoy Ultra HD streaming, live stream gaming, uninterrupted internet browsing and fast up/downloads.
There are many things that affect the speed you get, such as the device you have, where you are in the country and your surroundings (trees, thick walls and tall buildings). Using your phone at peak times and even the weather can also affect your speeds.
  • Will the SIM fit my phone?
Yes - our multi-SIMs are designed to fit any device. Just pop out the size to fit yours.
  • Can I keep my number?
Yes. To keep your number, you'll need a PAC code. Just text PAC from your plusnet mobile to 65075 and you'll get your code in less than a minute. Then, add your PAC code as part of your order. When you receive and activate your new EE SIM, your number will be transferred over.
  • When will my new SIM arrive?
As soon as we've processed your order, we'll send the SIM by second class post.
  • What do I need?
Just your payment card details, so have them to hand.
We'll also do a credit check and ask for your employment status. This is for your safety, and any information you share with us stays strictly with EE.

Please be careful before you switch. EE is sending out 5G SIM cards that are incompatible with some handsets, particularly Samsung (you might have heard of them) and whilst they know of the issue, it seems they have neglected to share this information with Plusnet, so that they can warn you before switching.

I am currently mid-complaint to the Ombudsman about it.

EE offer 2 solutions to the issue:
    1. Buy a newer handset
    2. Cancel the new EE contract with no penalty.

I feel both of these options are poor. Being forced to buy a new handset is something that really annoys me, as there's nothing wrong with my existing Samsung Galaxy.

You'll be able to search online for more details on this problem. EE won't tell you at first and indeed, their 1st line tech support is unaware of it. It's only once escalated that you'll get the explanation.

Did you try to use a discount code?
As that may have counteracted the increases

So, if you can generate yourself a discount code from perks at work, this also seems to stack, £2.80pm for 6GB, not sure how it works it out though 52332413-myW7k.jpg (edited)

    How?

I'm on Plusnet, how/when did they send the code out? SMS or email?
    steve1221's avatar
It's not a code, you call Plusnet and they'll open the EE amount for you and start the port.

Damn got excited when I saw an EE deal being posted by yourself. Unfortunately, the wait continues. It's still a great deal regardless if you're an existing customer.
    MustangGT500's avatar
Same here - got a notification and got all excited

That's a good deal for 125GB. I've jumped from Plusnet to Lebara recently as they didn't have this offer but also because no EU roaming on EE plans. Been pleasantly surprised by how good Vodafone signal has become. I still remember the days ( many many years ago ) when three was better than Vodafone (edited)
    wpj's avatar
I did the same, but Lebara/Vodafone was so bad that I moved to O2.

Anyone thinking about leaving Plusnet/EE, and would like to donate their code?
  9. SmokeyLoki's avatar
Anyone want to donate their code; I would be forever in your debt

I still have the plusnet £1 sim for years ago. This ee sim looks like a got time yo change before the plus net is cut off
  11. Maples's avatar
I've got a contract with them for 2 years and the speeds were meant to be capped at 100 Mbps but it hasn't, as it can often go slightly more than than. However, I don't think many people actually need anything over 25 Mbps for a phone.

Only gripe for me is that the monthly roaming pass went up to £25 and I only found out a few weeks ago.
    Rone's avatar
I used to think that I needed more than 100, just for the sake of not being capped. However, I'm currently with 02 and I haven't seen anything above 70 yet. I do often see 8mpbs though! (edited)

Not sure why people asking for code...I tested link and it takes straight to order page with £4 a month , gone to credit check and quit as not need another sim. No where I was asked for code...

    BT are different EE deals.

One that stands out. EG Unlimited £32.90 but includes TNT Sports, Netflix & Xbox Game Pass

Or unlimited £12.60 12 month contract (edited)
  14. Bervaglio's avatar
I was so happy with Plusnet, it's such a shame they are closing. I can't belive how bad EE's roaming pricing is. Now with Smarty and Lebara (dual sim), for a total of £9 a month with 55GB (40+15) to use in UK and 27GB (12+15) in EU. Despite being on two networks (Three and Voda) I still sometimes miss the EE coverage in UK.
  15. GShock123's avatar
Just a note of caution, the switch will go to credit check. I was trying to switch and the customer service confirmed there will be a credit check as we move to EE

    Code beg please 🙏
  17. bobby-gg's avatar
Annoyingly, I've already jumped and paying more than these deals, and looks like EE won't let me change to one of these.

Might ring them and see what they say but I'm guessing they won't do anything
  18. raptor9's avatar
I’d love a code if anyone is feeling generous 🙏
  19. whalleyman's avatar
I just changed to the EE sim offer 4weeks before they applied the discount and also having to pay the April increase :/ Was thinking about asking for the discount but not holding out any hope
  20. command's avatar
Anyone had a spare code please?
  21. Rimi's avatar
Not bad deal for some, especially EE being best of all mobile operators in the UK.
As for me, have Three business sim with unlimited data for £6 a month(now it is £12 for new customers, I know) and Sky £2 sim for unlimited calls/txts and it is best combo for dual sim handset - £8 a month for everything unlimited (edited)

I left Plusnet last year but I just checked if I could get a code using the number I ported out and it worked. Going to look into this when I get home since the O2 signal is awful virtually everywhere I go.
    maguirre's avatar
Did you call or email them? Thanks
  23. oscar72's avatar
Oh FS went to Lebara 2/3 weeks ago, Vodafone is awful and when you're lucky enough to get a signal internet cuts off during a calls.😡
Would appreciate a code if anyone has a spare.
  24. Rimi's avatar
Mr Switch, are you sure code is needed? Link takes straight to page where you choose plan and it goes though without any code needed till credit check. Do they ask for code at final order stages? I doubt..

happy to swap for 2 vue cinema tickets- they are seat tickets not a code to discount the seat price..

Hi managed to get on without a code. But it won’t let me add to my existing account? When I log in basket is empty
    celalcan's avatar
How did you get without an account? I would love to get a 125GB one. Does it have roaming?
  31. celalcan's avatar
I will get whoever gives me a code for this a free cinema ticket with me as my disabled person companion using my CEA card.
  32. Alex21's avatar
Worked without code from Brave browser Windows but EU Roaming is not free unfortunately (edited)
  33. Arkade's avatar
Anyone has a PERKS AT WORK code it would be very appreciated, please DM me. I can give Three rewards cheap cinema tickets etc
  34. HottestDeal's avatar
So what happens with the discount, how long does it last? Will it increase in the next monthly billing cycle?
also; I presume we are to see a CPI increase?
    watson7's avatar
The same discounted rate should roll on every month plus the CPI which will be applied later this month.
  35. ADDYA's avatar
I joined ee from Plusnet and deal was 5gb data unlimited txt/mins for £6 on a 1 month contract
  36. raptor9's avatar
So I signed up to the deal with the perks at work discount for £2.80 for 5GB but it says they need to confirm some details so will call me within 48 hours 😩 maybe because I used the same email that’s linked to my existing EE account
  37. shanraja's avatar
Is this not ok for existing customers???
  38. Eagle1's avatar
Just signed up to perksatwork it took about 2 minutes. I put ministry of defence as my company, I gave them my old hotmail email to sign up, no checks to verify I work for the ministry of defence. 👀

    Perksatwork code for ee

I can see that all EE SIMO plans state that they will increase 31st March:

Does that mean its best to wait till 01st April if you want to take out a new SIMO? (edited)
