Just a headsup, student discount also works despite the fact it says OLEDS over 70 inch (edited)

crazy as in good crazy or bad crazy?

Has anyone moved from a qled to Oled?
I have a 4 year old Samsung q80t and as pricing has come down a fair bit, is it worth the change?
    Diabolik88's avatar
I'm always changing tellies, we bought a 65" Q9FN late Summer/early Autumn 2018 then upgraded to a 65" CX in Spring 2021 and upgraded once more to a 77" C3 last November.

The optimum word being 'upgraded' as I can't see us moving on from OLED for the foreseeable future because the difference in picture quality is staggering. (edited)

Just finished setting up mine! What an amazing tv especially with high quality content, so glad i went for it. Used a universal TV stand from amazon for mounting. Also takes a good while to get all the settings dialed in for SDR, HDR, Dolby profiles then gaming SDR, HDR. Definitely need to watch some tutorials on youtube 52364324-8BRm2.jpg

    What stand did you get?
  5. 5Rivers79's avatar
    I’m guessing no MLA panel?
    fab3rge's avatar
MLA is worth the difference, so I read from reviews. IIRC it’s not just improved brightness, but it radically reduces your odds of getting screen burn (although you do have a 5 year warranty).

Another thing, OS updates have apparently stopped for LG G3 - if so, the older LG OS on here is likely to cripple your tv performance fairly quickly (slow responses to button commands, for example). (edited)

Anyone know how much the stand costs? I couldn't find it.
    sashforth's avatar
The official LG stand is very expensive and hard to find these days. My 55 inch G2 is due next week and I plan on getting one of the many VESA compatible stands from Amazon. The problem is that there are so many to choose from. Most seem to be in the £30 to £40 range. (edited)

Back on & just ordered 55” for original price £783.99. Happy days
    edengarden's avatar
Did you get a delivery into? I got one but later said it's on hold.. not sure
  8. HerrFlick's avatar
It's even cheaper now. If you are LG member and have 20% discount code you can have it for £767.

If course hours after I order the price would drop

I spoke to LG chat and they do offer a fitting service apparently it’s through the carrier and it’s £125 when they send you the link when it’s arriving  (edited)

Can confirm the above is correct

Annoying this doesn't seem to work on the 65"
    BIGPHIL69's avatar
Hold out, I got the 65" G2 for just under a grand about 2 months ago
  11. Alicon's avatar
is it possible to use the code on any other LG TVs?
    ahmedhussainx's avatar

    yes you can
  12. stophe77's avatar
    Anyone seen any comparable deals?
    KendallC's avatar
Keep your eye on the LG site. G2 65 was sporadically coming in and out of stock and was then completely out for about 2 weeks. They must have recently had another shipment arrive as its been in stock constantly for over a week now. My point being, even though a 2022 model, it may not be just a case of them clearing the last few from the UK warehouse floor and more could be incoming.

Edit: It seems the G2 65 is actually also out of stock now but my point is still the same. Don't give up hope. (edited)

Anyone having trouble using their code? I keep getting the "code is not available on the product or is not valid."
    edengarden's avatar
Try clearing the cache and cookies and restart the browser.
    Or use a different browser
There are limitations which code you can use. Do check which coupon codes are applied. If there is more than one in your coupons try unchecking one of the coupons and see if the helps. For me 5 percentage welcome coupon is not applicable. When this coupon was selected nothing would work.
  14. mark93207684's avatar
This is only for healthcare workers unfortunately.

I bought this deal, don’t sweat if it goes out of stock as it seems to return in stock fairly quickly and you can set an email notification to let you know.
    ahmedhussainx's avatar

yes it keeps alternating stock in and out every few minutes or so you just gotta keep refreshing

Brilliant price. I’ve got the C2 48” for around £730 and this is meant to be a step up from that.
    Phil_Blake's avatar
    A MASSIVE step up.
    It's an excellent TV.

LG customer services are awful..do u think i should pay extra to get it from John Lewis or another retailer (richer sound) who has a good CS in case sth goes wrong wz such expensive tv ?? (edited)
    Ragedragon84's avatar
My experience with Richer Sounds has been positive so I'd say yeah pick them if you want good customer service (edited)

I did have an order in for a reburb one on eBay for 754.99 from Outlet returns shop, but thanks to guy/gal in here sending me a code (stophe77) I ordered this one to get it brand new and the 5 year warranty at 783.99. It is definitely worth that much for for peace of mind of the warranty.

I did try and use TCB as well, but I am not sure if that will track, but I can't complain anyway for the price. I hope LG's reliability holds up and its worth the money.
    edengarden's avatar
Only 1 year full warranty... 5 year will only cover the panel. In this model panel is least affected...

It is a bit odd sometimes. I ordered from your deal and gave heat. In fact the prices were exactly the same at £783.99 but this poster forgot to include the automatic 2% discount for being an LG member.

I think the method of getting a code must have been, or seemed to be, easier. Who knows? (edited)

Shame it doesn’t work with other coupons like it used to. Still a good offer but not amazing.

The C2 was ~£750 a week or so ago and that was lauded on here as an amazing deal. I got the G2 via this deal for £783.99 by signing in with my LG account for the extra 2% off. Great price IMO.
  26. jflet90's avatar
So tempted at £783.99 plus cashback.. this price is insane. Always wanted a G2 55" but couldn't justify paying £1k +.

I already have a LG CS in my living room.. which I would swap out with the G2 and put the CS in the dining room... to replace a very old Toshiba.

Just not sure I necessarily need 2 high end TVs. :/

One to think about tonight.. (edited)
