Product Details

Say goodbye to unsightly mould or mildew on your walls. When you use Zinsser Perma-White, you’ll be sure of a stain, scuff and scrub-resistant finish formulated to stand the test of time.

Zinsser Perma-White excels in areas of persistent high humidity, frequent temperature changes or poor air circulation. It contains a biocide that protects the dried coating against fungal degradation – the paint’s film is designed to resist cracking, peeling and blistering for up to seven years before first maintenance.

This matt white paint is recommended for those rooms where a low sheen finish is preferred, such as kitchens or finished basements.

• Coverage of up to 10m² per litre
• Touch-dry in just 30 minutes
• Recoatable in just 2 hours
• Matt white finish – ideal for kitchens or basements
• Self-priming – sticks to surface without sanding
• Mould and mildew-resistant in high-humidity areas
• Resists cracking, peeling and blistering for up to 7 years
• Stain-resistant finish is washable and scrubbable
• Low-odour, water-based formula
• Supplied in a 2.5L tin – total coverage of up to 25m²

Will the mould resistance still work if I paint over the white paint with a colour paint?

I would recommend “Kair Anti-Mould Additive for Emulsion & Gloss Pain” work’s great, just need to mix it well. 50ml bottle per 2.5l of paint.

    A true Landlord Special deal.

They'd buy a much much cheaper and inferior alternative!

Honestly you're better off getting a Dehumidifier

This is good for any paint job. Stays bright white, tough, easy to wipe and clean. Perfect for bathroom ceilings, kitchens etc. Heck, you can even put it on walls and woodwork! Can't decorate much with a dehumidifier (edited)

Couldn't agree more, has kept my single skin, uninsulated, but drylined garage walls perfectly white coming on 5yrs now. Very nice to apply too. Also functions as a primer for other problem areas so all in all its bloody good stuff, however scuff resistance not the best.

Zinsser paints /treatments are superb! Used Bullseye 123, BIN and just ordered 5ltrs of the BIN Aqua....covers a multitude of sins!!

Yes, costly...but they go a long way and are ever so effective.

Heated up and thanks for posting!

    Not the same product.

This post is for 2x 2.5l in white.
    You've linked 1x 2.5l in a tint/colour

Even the 5l is priced at over £70.

Saying that if your in the trade, brewers can offer heavy discounts on products.
I get between 30-50% off most paints, but i do spend thousands with them at the same time (edited)

Zinsser paint is great stuff, not cheap though. Most of our house is done in the white scrubbable stuff.

I think it's ok stuff and have used in the past after bleaching and removing as much as i could before applying. I think it definitely held it back for longer periods. Tried everything. We've had a demidifer for years too but it's been a long time since it's been on. It would need to be on almost constantly for us in the winter. Although the condensation on our downstairs windows is really bad sometimes we only get the horrible wee black dots upstairs for some reason. Also, it's always above windows and into corners above windows. Tried everything even up in the loft to pull insulation away from the eaves.

Crack a window when you can and when you're out and also make sure that bathroom door stays shut! Also stopped drying clothes indoors years back. They've helped reduce it but not totally got rid off.

Are your walls solid brick rather than cavity? We have a similar problem with external solid brick walls in our 1930s house.

Dehumidifier has definitely helped and likewise I’ve tried similar things.

Toxic and expensive! I rather pay more and get an eco paint with 0 VOC emission from other sellers/manufacturers

Just been using Zinnser BIN primer / sealer / stain killer. Great product covers everything well. Use as a go to primer everywhere now.

How does this compare to Lidls Anti Mould paint, that is currently currently selling for £6.99?
    Malabus's avatar
The comparison is that Zinnser paint works.

The paint is excellent I used it for damp and mould . Also one of my builder mate recommended HG mould spray best thing in the world for mould . Very strong but please be very careful whilst using its excellent. I was almost going to Hospital as I didn’t took precaution. But yes after suffering for over 13 years this was a miracle (edited)
