I paid nearly £500 for this only a few weeks ago.
I will be crying if it hits £400

You'll need to make peace with it, happens all the time.

Nice, I got this from Amazon Spain for £444 a couple months back, its a brilliant GPU paired with my 5800 X3D. Compared to my other PC with 3080 Ti and 5900X, I would say they are practically identical in performance.

This is likely overkill for your kid unless they are hardcore gamers.

I have an Ryzen 3600 with a RX6600xt and it plays everything out there at the moment at 1440p. You'd probably pick one up for 150 quid 2nd hand. Really depends on his age and what he wants it for.

I disagree! If he gets this the he won't have to upgrade for longer which will save him money in the long run

I got the Hellhound version last month for £405 off very (using 20% off when taking finance)

Excellent card, i run games at 1440P and it seems to run everything nice and smooth

    Very interesting.
Just today I was thinking of a new build for my child.
Looking at a budget of around 1300 (will also need monitor).
Do you think this if I get this, I will be able to get the rest of the parts in budget?
    One_minute_early's avatar
Yeah easy. I was looking for a super budget build with integrated gpu to start and could build for under 500 on am5 or under 400 on AM4 (I already have a psu). Plenty of headroom with your budget then for better parts I was looking at or for a decent monitor.

Some used ones were available from £370-400 from ebuyer express shop on ebay, they still have a single 7900xt merc used for £584.53 (edited)

Was thinking about getting a 4070 super but for 100 less this looks good. Wonder what the energy usage is compared to the 2 for a years use?

mine idles in windows at about 17w now, but youtube playback puts it into the 30-50w area. not as good as a 4000 series

this chart is out of date, what about the 4070 and 4080 super ti?
    Arkz's avatar
4070 Ti SUPER is about 27% faster.
4080 SUPER is 49% faster than a 7800XT. For 100% more money, lol.

For anyone who missed this deal . Check the used section. Plenty with slightly damaged box for more or less the same price.
