I have this TV in a 55" purchased in January. It's a decent TV for the money and glad I bought mine. Some Pros and Cons below. Bear in mind this is a low end TV and price usually gets you quality with TV's. I have a high end TV, Samsung QN94 so my view may be a bit critical.

    PROS
Excellent picture in HD on TV programmes and online content.
    Excellent SD movies.
    Decent SD viewing.
Decent sound using cheap Mix Bluetooth headphones.
Use as a PVR using external HDD not memory stick.
Has all the catch up apps.

    CONS
Menu system isn't as good as Samsung.
Menu system is slow even populating TV guide but ok when loaded.
Text is too small on TV guide.
PVR function could be easier for deleting.

Overall this is very much a decent TV, an excellent TV for the money.

Don't let my cons put you off as the main purpose of the TV is watching it.

Bonus factor is my old LG smart remotes work with this TV.

I have the 81006 which I think is the same with the curved stand. My usb stick works very well. You have to format it first from home menu

    - you missed the 55" at £310.49. That's a mega deal as well.

£344.99 less 10% discount added at checkout.

so you have to buy the £15 a year membership to be able to shop at costco ? is there any other way??

im looking at buying a new tv for the living room and 50" is max size, any other tv i should look at for £300 max ?????

How does this compare to UR7800!?
    Crossbow's avatar
UR7800 seems to have the better specs in some areas - panel bit depth+colours & HDR10 Pro.
While the UR8000 is better in others - audio (slight), Magic Remote & some minor AI enhancements.
With these low-end sets, unsure if these make a noticeable difference though, so it might come down to what remote control you prefer.

Does anyone know if it’s this price or maybe a little cheaper in store? Been tempted for a while to get the Hisense 50 inch but this I feel is a much better deal. Thanks for sharing and costing me some money! Ha
  12. Asif_M's avatar
Tempted by the 50inch Hisense QLED over this. Any opinions?
    Alex_H's avatar
Hisense is likely to have better image quality but LG probably had a better OS.
  13. winter_zombie's avatar
i think its because the tv you are looking at is the ur7000 series.
this deal is for the ur8000 series .. i think

Would this be an improvement over my Samsung KU6400?
  15. chrissafc's avatar
I wonder if any of the centre stands they sell on amazon would be compatible with this TV as our TV cabinet length only gives us 1cm each side for the legs on this tv
    kchlai's avatar
I'm in the same boat, I assumed a vesa TV stand supporting the right x by x dimension would do...
  16. Robiesanta's avatar
It shows £369 to me. Is there a code or something? Perhaps, I am being dim somewhere.

Another quesion. In general, is Samsung better than LG for TVs?

Any of the LG deals at costco vs Ebay deals on Hisense with 25% off .....Which is better as looking at the 65 inch hisense at £360 vs Lg £400 at costco ?
Always had hisense tv's without any bother so how is the budget Lg in comparison ?
    Any help appreciated thanks fellas

I just bought this LG 65UR80006LJ 65 Inch TV from John Lewis, thinking that was a great deal.
Do you think I can claim the difference of £50 back from JL as you can buy this TV from
a bricks and mortar retailer, Costco. Using JL price promise, as its £400 now. (edited)

Bought myself the LG 55", purchased the Costco online shopping membership for £15. Total price including delivery and 5 year warranty £316.74. Excellent price, I already have a 43" LG TV and happy with the quality.
  22. logansw's avatar
Are these deals in store at Costco or is it online only?

    Thanks
  23. Dullah123's avatar
Would this be same price in store?
  24. Saffsam's avatar
How likely are these catch up softwares to be updated.. Parents bought a Samsung and now c4 and c5 apps won't update.. So can't watch catch up now.. Almost better to invest in a firestick as more likely to be kept up to date
  25. VishalThanki's avatar
Did this have the ability to screen mirror from both Android and Apple phones?
  26. Saver12's avatar
