I think WiFi can add useful features to appliances but hopefully in all cases they fail to a good usable state, as presumably there will come a time when the vendor won't update the app or it won't work with a newer WiFi standard. I would be very cautious buying any white goods that were completely dependent on an app to work at all, and in that case we should be looking for guarantees as to how long the app will be supported and maintained.

    That’s a really good point !

What's all this WiFi business.... Encouraging home fires or laziness in my opinion!

Preheat from the couch with a smart connected oven
WiFiConn@ct gives you more control over the cooking. Just download the Miele@home app to a compatible smartphone, and you can use it to change the oven’s settings as your food cooks – it’ll give recipe ideas, create a shopping list and order groceries online too. So, whether you need inspiration, or you forgot to lower the heat while you pop to the shop, you’ll always create delicious, perfectly cooked meals – even when you’re out.

Not entirely sure how this "encourages" home fires. (edited)

We've had Neff, Bosch etc and sort of assumed that Miele was much the same. It's not - vastly superior build quality and a much more reliable temperature.

Having tried Miele against the others, there's no way I'd go back to the cheapies like Neff.

    Is Neff cheap?

I’d use wi-fi connected. Great if you don’t know how long you’re going to be out or will get home later than you planned. That would save a few burnt dinners 😹

We had the non wifi version and it packed up after a few weeks, not getting to the correct temp. Miele came and repaired it very quickly, but it failed again. Had miele appliances for years with no problems. Returned it and bought a NEFF. That's been ok.

Just another brand that relies on Brand snobbery for customers in my opinion.

Maybe 20 years ago their products were better but now it's all the same rubbish, with stuff like made in Germany on it to make you think it's premium

It lacks many of the features that the Samsung ovens get you for the same price if you buy through the EPP portal.

You have to be invited to the partner program though, right?

Firstly, the third picture places the oven in the centre of a wall of laminated wood with nowhere to put your oven trays or Pyrex dishes down when you take them out of the oven.
Secondly if you hate your neighbour for getting a WiFi oven; next time they go on holiday simply shout through their letterbox "Alexa, set oven to 220°C!"

i know a joke but for those who that don't know these type of goods can't be started without physiclly pressing on the ovens buttons for this exact safety concern.

I'm sure they would never openely advertsie remotely switching off oven either, probs just setting schedules of temperture throughout or if upstairs ect.
