Thank you

We have a couple of cats. It copes well although I also have 2 daughters and a wife with long hair. so I do have to cut the long air off the brush head attachment every so often. Stairs wise i don't find it a problem. the hose it pretty long obviously some balancing or holding of the vacuum part of the stairs is needed when you get to the middle. The cable retrieval system did break a couple of years back but in hasn't matter for us too much. I save money on the bags by buying the 3rd party ones from amazon which are considerably cheaper

ZazZYo

Ordered. Have been looking for a turbo head cleaner for a while. Hope it lives up to the promised 10 so years. Out of city and getting delivered sometime tommorow via ParcelFoce. Not sure what they will do if they don't find me there...

Foxymum1977

I have this hoover and I love it on hard floors (tiles and wooden) but I find it hard work on carpet anyone else think the same? I find the Dyson easier on my carpets by far

Mechtup

No clue why they got one then! They do have a cat there but it never goes in much places, so it’s not needed.

Ordered. Arrived early next day. Seems good so far.

AlarApprentice

Yes, comes with a bag fitted already. Mine took less than 48 hours to arrive to my workplace. Yes, Scott Montgomery, I agree there's a limit to how excited you can get about a vacuum cleaner, but I always like getting something new, especially when it's replacing something 12 years old and much more plastic looking. It's hard to find the dimensions online, but this is definitely compact - maybe about a a foot and a half by a foot, or slightly bigger - and build quality looks good; the main metal tube is telescopic, which also isn't obvious....Thanks OP!!

dogsballs

just got the c2 pet one from argos ebay store for £129. still some there

Mechtup

We have one of these hoovers at work (not the same one, mind. We have the C3) and I prefer Henry’s over them. These are less reliable (not sure how old our one is but the cable you have to pull because it doesn’t do it automatically. Never had that with any Henry Hoover and I’ve used a lot of them since I’m a cleaner). Also a shorter cable (which probably won’t be a problem for most people though). The only advantages that I can think of are the multiple options and the smaller size.

edgeone

Fantastic vacuum. Dyson quality and performance is so poor in comparison to Miele.

I have this washing machine, it’s awesome, bought it brand new in November last year for £660 with 5yr warranty, but Miele we’re offering a £200 cash back at the time too, so it was only £460, but would highly recommended at this price. The only downside, trying to find the matching tumble dryer ! Had to pay just over £600 for that !

Candystore

Incorrect. It depends on the model, some of the more expensive ones, usually ones that cost over £1k come with 5 or 10 year warranties.

AsifIqbalKhokhar

Just the one I could see...but they usually have some bargains in store there with the clearance stock!

rodman

why would they return? the thing is heavy like hell.

Liam_188

Great offer. Online still showing full price. But great for someone at that store.

They don’t use any concrete in there machines actually, they do how ever use cast iron

bonzobanana

I'd not seen recent reliability reports but have heard great things about LG and pretty sure their repair costs are fairly reasonable too. Zanussi/Electrolux seems like they have improved their processes and quality. Not surprising many brands go up and down in quality over the years. LG certainly seem to be the winner in quality vs price or actually even quality vs any price. Very nicely styled too I find.

fiqqer

That is a great post :). It has all the information relevant for a decision to be made. Thanks.

Newbold

I'm not sure they would - it's become a middle class badge of honour. Like the BMW or the Mercedes - de rigueur. As for reliability, Which? research shows this: LG 94% Zanussi Electrolux 92% Miele 90% Bosch 89% and this for the % of fault-free machines after 10 years: LG 94% Zanussi Electrolux 89% Miele 88% Bosch 87% Not a huge difference for Miele, particularly given the very high prices. What it doesn't show is the post-10 year position, which is where Miele claim to score, but to be honest the repair costs involved would probably buy you a new Bosch!

fiqqer

Of course the price means they are not affordable to many. There are cheaper options but dont pretend cheaper brands will perform as good as as long as a Miele model. When buying you have to trade off price versus value. Reliability is not a rating - it is a measurement in years of continued service without a breakdown. Miele washing machines would be expected to last at least 12 years, and the parts used in the machines are of the type and quality that permit this. This compares to parts used in somthing like a Samsung Ecobubble which you will be lucky to last 6 years. Miele machines use a cast iron to weigh them down and provide stability, compared to the concrete used in other machines. Also their bearings are double the size of other machines and less likely to fail. So the extra cost is is due to the better quality components used which increases the life of the product. There is merit in this case for paying more for a trusted brand rather than an unreliable one. People would stop buying miele machines if they were no better than any other brand.

MishkaGrizzly

Yup, looks like we just missed it :(. From the Ts and Cs: 2.2. To take advantage of this promotion, purchases must be made between 26th March 2018 and 31st May 2018 (inclusive). So the 30 June date is just the end date to receive your claim, but the purchase must have been made before 1 June. :'(

mb1357

Doesn't cashback run out 31/05??

masliya

I have £30 Currys voucher, would that effect the cash back too?! But they’re not promotional vouchers, just want to make sure before committing to a purchase.

Kao_Destiny

Careful guys. I bought a CX1 from Amazon and subsequently claimed the £30 cashback from Miele. They refused to pay out because I used some of my American Express points to make the purchase on Amazon. They are hiding behind the following small print in their terms and conditions: 2.5. Each cash back claim is limited to a single use and cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional voucher or cash back offer against the promotional product, as stated in Article 3.1. Using Alex points is not a promotional voucher nor do I consider it as meeting the definition of "cashback." Middle should honour their deal offer and stop trying to sneakily wriggle out of coughing up. Watch out for that one guys.

Labour costs make many repairs prohibitive. For some brands parts costs make it pointless, or are not available to independent repairers . For many newer models some repairs are not possible as the bearings are sealed in the drum. In the 1950s everything was viable for repair, it's not the same now.

Problem with bagless cleaners are small dust capacities. This has only 2 litres where as C3 has 5.4 For bigger houses it does become another chore always emptying.

I guess when people revile you for who you are by what you do and put a label on you and you dont have freedom to reply. Or, you get rebuked/told off for your actions and lots of back and forth comments after that which is fruitful and at the end of the day, you want to or dont mind buying the other a drink. I am learning to keep ridicule out of it or at least humble and apologise before it hits the fan. I am learning to separate ones actions from ones identity.

VictoriaTindall

Thanks. I think I've decided it might be best to save a bit more and try a miele bagless one. Win win...except for the price!

We have a miele cat and dog hover (actually it's the other half's, she wanted to keep hers so my bagless one went in the garage), you do have to change the bags and also the filter every now year or two, as it does start to smell. Saying that, I think it is quite old and still works well.

I bought one of these a week or so ago 2nd hand...(it had been used once and was less than a few months old)...person who was selling it said he preferred Henrys ...he payed £195...i gave him £60 ...all the tools totally unused/new filters/bags/manuals still in sealed bag...over the moon and boy what a cleaner...now i have two Mieles s2111 and the c1...one for car/other for home...both absolutely great and compared with my old Dysons (motors always packing up) they are in a different league!
