GN or FJM Cat and Dog XL Packs. Contents: 8 dustbags, 2 motor protection filters, 1 AA50 Active Airclean Filter GN https://www.miele.co.uk/domestic/original-miele-dustbags-18… Read more

Purchased, thanks for the heads up, normally get the filter separately so this works out much better value.

It's a constituent part of the Cat & Dog pack. When you buy any of their Cat & Dog vacuums across their ranges, it's this type of filter (and a turbo brush) that is a standard fit item in order to be able to call it a Cat & Dog version.

Hmm, OK. I have clicked through the promotion and I just don't see the (free) addition of the SF-AA50 filter (at the checkout):

for the packs without the Active filter it's £18.99 (comes with the standard filter membrane that you swap out within the post motor filter cage). For £22.99 you get the pack that also includes an Miele SF-AA50 active filter which varies in price when you buy separately anywhere between the £8 to £23 mark. Currently just the filter is £15.86 on Amazon.

£18.99, no?

Good find the same code can also be used on the vacuum itself to bring the price down to £134.

Anyone looking at this or any other Miele vacum. Don't forget to register online for 2 year warranty. Once done go for the carebox down as £60 with bags and filters and extends warranty to 5 years. Also use code MIELEPLAT (case sensitive) to reduce to £45. Just used and works.

I would rather go for that 900w ish one and buy missing brushes /cat dog filters what not. They have created C3s in many wattages, colours and bundle options just to confuse customers me guess

Three things I missed are these are Dust Re-emission Class A, Carpet / Hard Floor C / A Henry is Dust Re-emission Class C, Carpet / Hard Floor D / C

The Miele is very good. I am very happy with mine but it is now over 20 years old and not the quiet model, replacing it with this will be perfect.

A relative has had a miele for decades! Swears by it, but i wonder how good a bag vac is these days

That's the Wife's Xmas present sorted.... ;) hot!

You need to be careful with this kind of product page. There are only 19 reviews for this model the other 99 and top reviews are for the 900W Cat and Dog Powerline. This is the review filter for this model https://www.amazon.co.uk/Miele-Complete-Silence-EcoLine-Cleaner/product-reviews/B074P8M6GG/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_viewopt_sr?ie=UTF8&filterByStar=all_stars&reviewerType=all_reviews&formatType=current_format&pageNumber=1#reviews-filter-bar I'm not so sure having read those. vs the Henry it's kg's lighter, quieter, 2m longer flex. Will sit on the step of stairs with the tools in it no need to go back to the cupboard for them, but it is longer.

Thanks. I just spoke to them on phone and as it was in store purchase, have to go back to store. PITA but should be able to make it before close

From previous experience, yes they will. I would contact them today while the offer is still active.

Bought a shark from Curry’s on Saturday at 199. Anybody know if they will price match themselves after the fact?

Thanks! In the end I bought from Miele as it worked out cheaper for the one I wanted and they give a 5 year warranty. However, if you are after the CX1 Comfort the best deal is from Curry’s.

Showing as £199 until you add to basket, I phoned to check the price and it’s £379.99. This item is around £199 at Very and direct with Shark. Currys do price match though.

top of our black friday shopping list was a miele vaccum cleaner. So this will do nicely.

Bags I think are the better, more hygienic solution. But Miele's cyclonic models apply the same level of detail into the thought behind the design of the machine. I bought a bagless cleaner and wish I had never bothered. You save the cost of the bags, sure, but you have the washing and drying of filters (that's 24 hours you can't use the vacuum) to deal with, unless you buy another set of filters or a backup machine. The minute you empty a cyclonic vacuum out, I found I either had to bin in a plastic bag to tie the contents up to prevent your kitchen from dustbin dust burps, or you go with the thimble sized dustcup to your outside bin. Cyclonic vacs just cry out to be emptied after every use otherwise it sits there reminding you with its perspex container of the crud it consumed previously.

Maaaaan. This Miele brand is strong but i havent used vacuums with bags since the CDs went out the window. Pretty long description for a vacuum!

This 900W vacuum is amazingly powerful, the best vacuum i've ever used. My carpets are so clean I can see the stains. I wish I waited to grab it at this price (instead of £225) but I haven't had a working vacuum in 2 months. (fierce) And if you want a vacuum so powerful it lifts your carpet, you're doing it wrong! Also, I couldn't move my C3 on max suction using the standard attachment, it was only movable with the Turbobrush.

Vacuum pistols at dawn. You're on. Name the pub car-park where this duel will take place. Big fat tubes, wouldn't that reduce the suction effect? Ok, so it wouldn't get blocked, you could use them part-time to finish off the crossrail excavation digging project.

To an extent you are correct and quality of materials, design of fan, number of air filters etc... may make a difference of as much as 20-30% even, but anytime you want to pit your 900W against my 2,000W, 122% more powerful machine, just let me know. Fact is, they are worse now. On full suction my Samsung can lift almost my entire living room carpet off the floor and even I at a bulky 100kg find it hard to push across the carpet on max suction. Something I have yet to find on any of the 900w models I have tried. Air flow would be a better measure but then you would just have manufacturers making the machines with big fat tubes to increase the airflow making the actual suction even worse. What they should use is suction power measured in the maximum weight the head can pick up. Nice and simple to compare and almost 'fake' proof.

Power consumption isn't the be all and end all of a vacuum's performance. If this was the only way of judging performance, we'd all be driving steam trains still. Remember it is consumption, it doesn't necessarily translate all into performance. Air Watts or Cubic metres per minute or whatever the measurement of air flow is measured in - should be the figure that these machines are judged upon.

900W isn't powerful. EU regulations say that they can't sell higher nowadays so as to cut carbon emissions. I dread the day my 2,000W vacuum finally gives up.

I did, all I get is adverts or write ups about their new dosing system. The one write up about a problem http://www.fixya.com/support/t11381372-miele_washing_machine_will_not_fabric seems to indicate simple maintenance is just required. Take out the drawer every week or so and rinse under hot running water and cleaning of the panel where water is run through. So all basic maintenance. Only one mention of a dodgy solenoid - which could happen to anyone if sod's law decides to kick in.

like i say - its a common problem with Miele - just google search miele and fabric conditioner. Havent done anything different with the Bosch & had no problems whatsoever. I tried to clean the Miele as best I could but to no avail.

Simple repairs might be required of any brand. Miele's are easy to work on because they're made to be easily serviced. Mould or gunk build up within washing machines can happen to anyone, especially since liquid detergents became popular and washing temperatures have dropped. Every once in a while, the whole drawer and the water inlet jets above it need to be de-gunked and a full temp service wash every couple of months. AND, every time you've finished using the machine, leave the door open and the tray a little open to let the machine breathe to help the remaining water evaporate.

Bought a Miele washing machine as everyone said they were the best. After 2 years Miele washing machine wouldn’t empty the fabric conditioner from the drawer and because we hadn’t returned warranty form according to Miele it was a small fortune for a engineer call out. Apparently a common problem with their washing machines. Got rid of it and replaced with a Bosch 6 years ago which has been worry free.

I've thought about it but what about the environment when you scrap a 200 pound piece of metal and glass that works perfectly?

It's fine for average domestic situations. It's designed for short to mid-pile carpets. Do you have long hair and like to have haircuts at home? As it then might be a problem. I've not had any issues with the Miele, but then my nickname is Kojak.

It's not really as a good a deal as they make it out to be. It seems Miele's quite desperate to rid itself of superfluous stock. Don't get me wrong, they are great vacuum cleaners, but this Blizzard model, although quite high tech, is a little bulky especially when it comes to stairs. Take a look at the dimensions to make sure it's right for you. You can grab an alternative Blizzard. Comes with the same PowerLine (890 watt) motor. Take a look over at Miele's promotion section https://www.miele.co.uk/domestic/vacuum-cleaners-1784.htm?mat=10661230&name=Blizzard_CX1_Parquet_PowerLine_-_SKCF3 ...it comes with a lifetime HEPA filter and a parquet floor-head (natural bristles, great for wooden or delicate floors) included for £199. If you need a Turbo brush-head, you can pick up a MIELE STB 205-2 Turbobrush for £50 from Currys. More similar than different to the EcoTeQ Plus turbo brush, which according to Miele's accessories page, offers the same benefits, although only has 1 review, that's negative. It seems the EcoTeQ Plus turbo brush is a remake of the tried and tested STB-205 turbo brush. So, all in all, same total price but you get an additional floor head thrown in. The only immediate difference is that you end up with a glossy black instead of red, vacuum cleaner. The Obsidian Black hides its battle scars a little better in my opinion, plus it's quietly understated. If you don't want the parquet floorhead, I'll buy it for my Compact C1 that I bought a fortnight ago.

Might be a silly question....but how do you buy directly from Miele. I can't seem to see anywhere to add the vacum cleaner to a shopping basket!

The turbo brush is air-powered, not electric. Is this as bad as the Henry air-turbo brush, constantly clogging with hair? Has anyone used this cleaner?

We bought a cheap "gorenje" washing machine on the recommendations of the salesman. 10 plus years later! Okay, I've had to fix the buttons with cocktail sticks on the backs where the Mrs pushes the buttons so hard.. But it's still going strong. The door to the filter is broken, so we've never been able to check it! Remarkable. Value for money really.

It's not a recent model, that's the point the older stuff is ok it's the latest stuff that's too complex & breaks all the time

I have lost count how many times my neighbour has had the Miele repair men out for their washer dryer - twice in the last month that I have noticed, 4 times previously I know about. I bought a Miele washer last year on a spectacularly priced offer from here (https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/double-discount-miele-wkb120-8kg-1600-spin-699-saving-200-further-200-miele-cashback-499-3495-in-co-op-rewards-5-year-warranty-co-op-electrical-members-only-2823178 at effectively 460 quid!), and so far it has been OK, and the price was breathtaking, but I am no particular fan, it has it's negative points and I don't rate it as good as my previous Siemens machine for quality - it came with a 5 year warranty, and wouldn't dream of buying one (of any make) without these days!

My folks have had their mele dishwasher for...well... I can't even remember how long! 15 years? Longer than that I think? Rock solid. The water inlet pipes had to be replaced as they became brittle and leaked...otherwise. Rock solid. I have heard that delivery guys of white goods hate having to take away miele machines as they are so heavy...and so well put together. But, it's possible that quality might of gone down on newer products. Are heat pumps dryers still a new technology with bugs?

Yes, you can only see a metal chassis through the gaps on the brush head to which the plastic top cover and base plate are screwed. It feels really strong and well designed, I'm very pleased with it so far.

Gracias senior. So any metal is within the brush-head, as in you can't see it?

Externally the head is all plastic, with metal structure inside. And thanks for the info, I read you say something about it earlier, but couldn't find it again when I looked, so cheers!

They know what they're doing don't they? Can you do me a favour and let me know if the floor head is all plastic or does it feature a metal plate on the underside? Make sure you extend the warranty to 5 years. Steps: 1) Go to Miele's UK website and register yourself. 2) Register your machine. 3) You'll receive an email which amongst it will tell you you're a Gold member (if you've registered less than 3 machines) or a Platinum member. Along with the message you'll be quoted a discount code. (I'll take the suspense out of it for you. MIELEGOLD gives you £10 off, or MIELEPLAT for £15 off). Let me guess which one you'll be using... 4) Revisit their website and purchase the Care Box making sure it's the GN seeing as you purchased the above deal. During checkout use the discount code to potentially reduce a box containing of 4 packs of vacuum bags (ie 16 bags and 4&4 filters) and your 5 year warranty extension to £45. Slightly more than you'd pay if you hunted down the best priced bags, but you get a handy box and the warranty thrown in. Me thinks a no brainer deal.

Well I just got mine, and above half-way power I can barely move the head with it on carpet, and I ain't exactly tiny! So I'm not sure more suction would be too helpful :) Actually it's bloomin brilliant, well designed, powerful, light, easy to move, best vacuum we've ever had, etc, etc. Our venerable, and beloved, Henry is off to the shed for workshop duty.
