I highly recommend not buying a refurbed one through Amazon, I brought 3 and had issues with all of them.

    1. Had no charging cradle, Amazon wouldn’t send me just the charger so had to send the whole thing back.

    2. Was literally covered in sh** they hadn’t checked or tested it before reselling, it was clearly very very used. So sent it back.

    3. When registering the vacuum on the app, all of the previous users data (including address and email) were still on the system, so a massive breach in GDPR. Amazon again hadn’t wiped the data first.

Save yourself the hassle and buy a new one.

Well this definitely puts me off

The wife picked up a G30 before Christmas for £180ish. Highly sceptical beforehand but her mate highly recommended it, and frankly it's been brilliant. We control it thru Alexa if that's your bag too. (edited)

Yes it has the mapping feature. I was impressed by how much it lifted and it takes very little input from me other than emptying it. We bought my mum one as well and that came with spares. The spinning brush cleans much better than a normal vacuum and when the brushes get out of shape after a few uses, you put them in boiling water and they're like new again.

Been very reliable with me. But worth noting that works best in tidy homes. If you have usb cables, blankets, shoe laces etc about, it will get stuck on it.

Was gonna buy. You just talked me out of it

I've had a G10 since late 2021 and it's been ... Ok. Cleaning wise it picks up a decent amount of small bits and dog hairs - and works fine on carpet too - but its only good for low levels of mess as it fills easily. My main gripe is it's stupid! It often goes off in crazy directions, will get stuck in a loop as it battles the walls/doors, and can appear to head home as if it knows what it's doing then do a 90 degree about turn and just start banging into walls again! It's also worrying that the firmware updated only twice since I bought it and hasn't updated in last 18 months, and it definitely should have been updated in that time to help fix some of it's quirks

Hoping firmware has updates available when mine arrives later today... Otherwise I'll be kicking it out of the house on a second class ticket back to the warehouse!

Can anyone who has young kids and one of these, give their view on robot vacuum cleaners versus toys? Do you constantly have to pick up Lego etc before it gets vacced up?
    icyhead's avatar
They won't vacc up toys, but you'll have to tidy them anyway or it'll push them all over the room. The only things my one has vacced up are shoelaces, and the time a shopping bag fell on the floor and it tried to eat that. But in both cases they just get tangled and the robot shuts down rather than compeletely destroying it.

If it has mapping yes go for it, great hoover but no mapping and you have wires, spaces it can reach etc no, it just bumps everywhere, gets stuck and drags wiring everywhere knocking stuff down

I have one and its cool but it inevitably sucks up cables and the only way to release them from the wheel is to cut them loose

I have this (tile floors throughout) it works really well

I will never invest in Eufy again! Ours kept getting stuck, the battery failed twice and it did such a poor job compared to our 15 year old Roomba! Very poorly engineered sadly.
    hcc27's avatar
Roomba and Dyson are probably gold standard, but right now there are many cheaper vacs with LIDAR mapping which work very well. My £113 Lubluelu is very accurate with its mapping and cleans very efficiently. There are many other cheap mapping vacs available now, I'd say some are just as effective as Roombas.

I have a slightly older model and it’s great. Would probably ignore the “mop” function on this though as it looks like mine with basically just a fabric attachment at the bottom that you wet manually and doesn’t ever last wet until the end of the process.

They do have models with water tanks but these tend to be bigger and not so good for smaller spaces
    GheorgheCiprian_Dima's avatar
I have had this for almost 2 years, and never used the " mop " function yet. But if that is something that might interest you, this is not one of those that you have to wet it manually. It actually has a 250ml ( if I remember well ) water compartment attachment.

I bought this for downstairs. Does a good job for the price. We have a dog that malts like there’s no tomorrow, and this at least helps reduce that. Sometimes gets stuck, but usually ok. Just have it do a clean every day when no one is home (incl. the 🐶)

All fun and games until it drags a dog turd all over the house. (edited)

Buy 2, then use the 2nd to mop up the mess.

I purchased the G40+ (Renewed) with self emptying on the weekend as spotted there was a 25% code. Came to £156.75.

Arrived today and got really lucky as it looks brand new. Tested it out and impressed so far.

Considering getting this and 18 pound for 4 years insurance I know that is 20 percent increase but with refurbished sometimes might be worth it. Plus if it does last 4 years tbh I think that extra wouldn't be something I would care about.
