A bright new era of pixels
Heightening the vivid beauty of LG OLED self-lit pixels. Brightness Booster Max takes refinements by the α9 Gen 5 AI processor to the next level, delivering up to 30% more luminance. Now, visuals look bolder with superior light efficiency.

Beauty meets brains
The brains behind the beauty. Following deep learning advancements, LG's α9 Gen 5 AI Processor enhances objects in the foreground and background to add natural depth, and makes colours spectacularly vivid yet accurate.

Dazzling darks, luminous lights
With no backlight to dull their impact,self-lit pixels achieve the deepest blacks for crisp contrast in every light. Visuals are more defined, so you can make out subtle details your eyes usually miss.

The details set the tone
All-new Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro goes deeper to improve the picture. Previously, it elevated just the frames. Now, the technique hones in on 5000 blocks across the screen for more vivid HDR down to each last detail.

Sounds like you're in the scene
The α9 Gen 5 AI Processor up-mixes 2-channel audio into virtual 7.1.2 channel sound. Feel the action and chaos around you, just like you're the main character of the movie.

Television just for you

Will this be better than my old Panasonic Plasma tx55vt65?
    KendallC's avatar
You will get very mixed responses to that. I believe the VT65 was one of the last high end models wasn't it?

If you intend to watch HDR content, it can do things your plasma can't. If you intend to watch a lot of poor quality SD content, you plasma will be better. There's lots more to consider though. I have a G2 and love it with the right content but a lot of stuff I'm just as happy watching on my plasma's. (edited)

    Cheapest this has ever been?!
    legend86's avatar
No, it was £100 cheaper with a BLC discount around Easter.
  3. Paulster12's avatar
I purchased this a few weeks back at this price and paid for it to be fitted properly with wires in solid wall and plastered walls etc.

Paired it with a Sonos Beam Gen 2.

    You won’t regret it. 🏻

Was this with the LG installation with delivery or another third party installation?

Currently got an LG CX. Is this a considerable upgrade or should I hold out for the G3 to drop in price at some point?
    NoNamesLeftWhy's avatar
wait for the g3 for a proper upgrade, yours is more a side grade

Its 1700 now so somehow hoping around £1000k with codes etc later in the year.

    Probably too optimistic.

Will not be wall mounted. I'll be asking for codes too! (edited)
    P1121's avatar
G3 clearly better than G2 but could be this time next year before it sees prices like G2 currently (£783/£685 etc) if at all, and by then it'll be G5 launching and talk of G4 is better than G3 etc.
G3 probably will see decent reductions though over next few months though, but for me I need a TV now, really been looking for over a year so waited long enough.

Can anyone who owns this tell me what the best stand is for it? I don’t trust my old tenement wall to not crumble if I drilled into it!

Got the 55G2 recently on the LG £685 offer, got it on the Sanus VTVS1 stand. Seems very good quality and almost looks oem. Few places selling it for more than I paid, was cheaper in Costco but out of stock there for the moment unfortunately.

Fantastic price for a amazing oled! Better than the c3 an cheaper at this price point! 🔥
    Mojomaster1979's avatar
How is it better than the C3, aside from slight increase to brightness?
  8. JD_'s avatar
    Anyone have the G3?

I'm waiting till November to get it.
    Thoughts, feedback?

G3 is supposed to be a bit of step up from the G2, brighter more audio format support, and an anti-glare coating on the screen. I have it, but not unboxed it (as it was a warranty replacement, and I'd been hoping to sell off my G2 first, as I don't fancy having more than one big screen in the house, although my bossy 5yr old is quickly changing my mind - TV hoggin on inane YouTube content).

Cracking price, chance of Quidco too. Has anyone had any joy finding the stand for under £100? (edited)
    P1121's avatar
If you're looking at stands, I went for Sanus VTVS1 stand and found it good. Cheaper than LG stand but still a good known brand etc, and didn't like the look of the tilt backwards that the LG G2 stand creates anyway. I think the new G4 stand is quite similar to the Sanus VTVS1 in appearance from the front.

does any who has this wall mounted confirm if the wall mount is flush or an eye-sore just like in pics with a euro tunnel wide gap ?
    Vish1's avatar
No gap at all. You won’t see any part of the mount
  12. Hunterx878's avatar
Can anyone confirm that you can still access the service menu in these via the WebOS? instead of having to buy that service remote.

Just tried using the inbuilt browser address (no idea this was available).... and it didn't work. But I mostly got the impression people were using this to try and 'force' G behaviour on C model TVs (although I'm largely ignorant of the secret menu 'dark arts').

What I would say is useful about the LG sets, is that they log errors, so if you do have to make a warranty claim, they're much easier to corrolate your claims to the logs (instead of recreating when an engineer visits).

Not inclined to install 3rd party software on my PC to access the TV menu over my local network.

Seems it does still work (thread updated 13d ago after they updated the latest WebOs): reddit.com/r/O…ce/ (edited)

I have owned this and the panasonic jz1500, for picture quality, processing the panasonic hands down(its on par with the sony a90j). Its operating system(the panasonic) however is the worst of the worst and you will need some sort of steaming box. (edited)

Got this on the £685 deal. My first foray into OLED. Must say I'm absolutely blown away with it. Makes watching TV so much more enjoyable. Doesn't really matter what I'm watching.
    InfoAddict's avatar
My previous TV was a Sony LED from 10 years ago.

In the recent deals I went for the C2 55 inch £750 and was loving it, but then saw the £685 G2 55 inch deal which turned my head, ended up going for the £960 G2 65 inch deal instead, have wall mounted it and have returned the C2 55 inch.

Stunning, stunning, stunning. I waited 4 years to get an OLED and my patience has been rewarded.
  16. edengarden's avatar
Bought this for 680£ from direct LG .. still a good offer
  17. Hunterx878's avatar
Nice contrast on this, but the colour volume is lacking a bit, as is bright highlights. Input lag is excellent for games. Turning off auto-dimming for use as a PC monitor is a no go, as doing this in the service menu could voice your warranty. If you want colour pop, you might have to look at the C3 or QD-OLED, or Sony Equivalent OLED, but they will cost a lot more. Or, if you like/want colour volume and still want great contrast, look at Sony's Mini-LED TVs, and they will still be far brighter than this set. (edited)

Mine was through a works perks portal called Telus (formally called Lifeworks), I suspect not every perks portal has access to the same offers.

Missed out on the 77" model for £1704 as over Easter they had 20%BLC and additional 10%

Now comes up at just under £2k

Got this for £680 around Easter.
  29. SorinO's avatar
I'm waiting for it back to £680. I've missed it 2 weeks ago,but im patient.
I've just bought an S90C last year and I'm just curious what's on the LG "yard"(G2 or C3 whatever comes first) (edited)
    InfoAddict's avatar
Might even go lower than that to be fair.
  30. JackD141_'s avatar
I have a valid blue light code but it's coming up as invalid (no other codes used). Anyone know how to fix?
    KendallC's avatar
There's no telling as the codes are so hit and miss. One thing that worked for me in the past was a dummy order for a different TV. Once code is loaded it remembers it and then was available when I emptied basket and went back to order the TV i actually wanted. You obvs need to be logged in to an account for this to work.

great tv go on lg site at 685 last offer, try using a different browser, i used chrome and the blc code worked or try disabling all your plugin extns until you have tried inputting code, tried again on a different tv the other week and it worked again in chrome
  33. gtfc1986's avatar
I’d really like to buy this TV but don’t have a BLC or perks account. Would anyone be kind enough to send me one please?
  34. simon_white2000's avatar
I don't think those Easter offers are going to be beaten - cant believe I missed them!
  35. Sam_5ez's avatar
Does it come with a stand or is it meant to be wall mounted?
    JD_'s avatar
    C models have stands supplied.

G models are wall mounts as standard, you have to buy a stand yourself separately.

G4 will have a stand supplied. New to 2024.

I found a deal for a refurb one for one of these, gonna give them another shot and turn the auto-dimming off in the service manual. It was just under 500 for the 55" and 12 month warranty, but doesn't come with stand or magic remote (not an issue).

They are delivering via Xtra Xpress via a pallet delivery - has anyone ever had a tv delivered on a pallet? this might sound like a stupid question but...do they actually take the pallet away with them once you have took the TV? never heard of using a pallet delivery service before for a TV. Cheapest Electrical was the store on eBay.
    InfoAddict's avatar
That sounds like a great deal if it works fine and has no faults.
