I have the XT9 paid just under 400. This seems like a good deal. I've had no problems since upgrading to this. Really good mesh would 100% recommend this. I upgraded from the Google nest mesh to this.
This has really good coverage. (edited)

XT8 has been immense for me for last 2 years. Never missed a beat. Haven't researched but presume this is just as good/better.

TL;DR they’re decent but already aging tech and YMMV with older devices using 24ghz BGN.

Have these, I’d rate them 7/10. Speeds are generally very good and range is good. Have plenty of settings, guest networks and support 160mhz albeit if the local airport isn’t using the band. Don’t play that well with things like blink cameras, even after spending hours fine tuning the settings. They have 2.5gb Ethernet but on only 1 port which is a bit daft if you want the best ping and fastest throughput. They’re Wi-Fi 6 which is pretty old hat these days, better off getting at least Wi-Fi 6e kit even if you need to save a bit more or add a node in future. I’ve got mine connecting directly to the ONT with a 1gig FTTP connection. Using Ethernet backhaul now which made a hell of a difference with ping over WiFi backhaul, but that’s not a problem specific to this mesh router as that’s just a limitation of half duplex WiFi.

Agreed - Ethernet backhaul is a must! Went from 300mbps to 970mbps in same room as each of the nodes and not dropping below 600mbps anywhere now. Annoyingly my solar inverter for some reason reaaaaaaaally doesn't like using the 2.4ghz band of the 6e mesh I've got so I've had to keep a crappy powerline adapter near it so it connects properly, otherwise the new system is great.

Seems a good price for these, personally cannot recommend unless the OS/firmware drastically changed from the XT8.
I’ve had them for a couple years now and had the odd problem which has been a pain to sort. At this money they should “just work and be reliable” in my opinion.
Not voted either way as I don’t have the XT9

Prices for WiFi 6 and 6e should continue to fall now the big players are pushing the WiFi 7 stuff out.

The NETGEAR Orbi WiFi 6E Mesh System is still £1300 Jesus it’s just WiFi. Just don’t get the prices even if it is new tech the same system for WiFi7 is £2000 what the hell

This might be a good discount but it doesn't represent value for 99% of people. A good value WiFi 6 mesh system will suffice for the 99%. They're more like £75-150.

I've had this for a year or so, and can easily get 800-850mbps all over the house (3 bed) on iPhone & Samsung Tablet. This is cheaper than I paid. Heat.

What I like about the XT8s and XT9s (plus probably other ASUS routers) is that you can actually give the 2.4G and 5G bands different names, I found this really helped with my 2.4G only cameras - previously they had frequent drops with the BT Whole Home wifi I had which never allowed you to split the bands. Also, you do not need to set up an online account to use them like you do with things like the Decos and other brands which I had also considered.

I've got a pair of XT8s and bought them a while ago, had these set up with a price alert that I'd set up when I was looking at either the XT8s or XT9s but back then I decided these were too expensive so just got a pair of XT8s and forgot to delete the price alert for these!

Just flight myself a tp link s4 from Amazon for £100. Covers a 4 bedroom house perfectly. I don’t see the need to spend that much more for not much improvement by getting this or a wifi 6/7. They are just crazy expensive

What are the advantages of these over let's say a pair of Asus AX58U wifi 6 AX3000 routers for under £200 with one in mesh mode? Genuine question but arent they doing the same thing? Please forgive my ignorance.

These are tri-band and use the third WiFi band as a dedicated back haul between the two mesh units. In theory this means you should get better WiFi to connected devices as the back haul and devices aren’t competing for the same WiFi … is that makes any sense!
