Just got back from Bali, amazing, but would suggest moving about a bit as there is a lot to see.
At the very least in you are in Sanur then take the ferry over to lembongan and spend a few night there., but do suggest trying to move around the island to a few locations. Airbnb places are cheap and are amazing.

If you go to one of the Nusa islands highly suggest doing the Manta Ray Scuba/Snorkelling trip.

    Some times:
    - Use an E-Sim (I used Airalo, if you want I can give you my referral code will give us both some credit) (I got one for the stp over airport as we were there for a while as well)
    - Use Grab, same as Uber here (some areas you will have issues with getting a taxi due to local taxi mafia you over charge, just speak with your grab driver and arrange to meet them at a location to pick you up)
    - Klook app - to book things like the ferry etc
    - Wise card/any travel card really

It is amazing there though and am already planning our next trip.
If you can do your visas etc online as the queue in the airport is long otherwise.

    Edit:
We had ice in nearly every location as well and seemed to survive and did not contract Bali Belly.

Also to access reddit for sometimes I needed to use a VPN but thankfully had a few on my phone already. (edited)

I did exactly that good advice, I used the main taxi firms own app bluebird taxis as cheapest and loads rip you off. Also had a week on the gili islands which i thought was nicer than lembongan. Manta ray trip was disappointing in Oct as was swimming in tons of plastic waste but other times are apparently better. Kuta beach the same

Also alcohol is available with resorts as being governed with international territorial laws and away from them its not available or even illegal i believe, due to religious governing!
Correct me im wrong or better give me official link to read up please?
    Many thanks 🙏

Alcohol is available everywhere and can be purchased in very local shops for local people or supermarkets, there is billboard signs advertising their local beer Bintang. They also have their own local spirit.

And from my looking online now there is no law banning it, international spirits are pricey and wine is insanely expensive but did not have any issues getting a nice cold beer anywhere in Ubud, Uluwatu, Sanur, Nusa Islandsi.

It is worth noting that Bali is not as heavily influenced by Islam as some of the other parts and only something like 10% of the island is Muslim.

Educate yourself... its a ancient hindu symbol.. 'swastika', a combination of 'su', or good, and 'asti', to be... in other words well-being

I take it that to get there you just go far right once you’ve left the airport?

Correct, the third right to be exact

Bali sounds so exotic but friends just came back from there and said otherwise. Some nice resorts if that's all you want to do but the island itself is a bit of a dump it seems. Hot and very humid too.

    A dump in what way?

Sanur has its charms but is going to change drastically in the next few years as they're building a mall on the main road behind the beach.

I wonder if they will knock down that big shop that's been there for years

bali is crap tbqh. I would avoid entirely and go to Lombok or the other archipelago in that region of the world. If you like beach clubs and getting smashed it's probably your thing
