Sorry but cold from me. I see this design used by a lot of companies and they are just cheap tat. Only WiFi N speed. 5000sq.ft is a complete lie. Best to buy something from a decent WiFi brand, sorry OP.

Alternative at a similar price: TP-Link N300 Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender, Broadband/Wi-Fi Booster, Plug and Play, WPS, UK (TL-WA854RE) amzn.eu/d/c…4GN (edited)

I bought one for £0.98 from Aliexpress. Buy it from China, make your own brand and post it on Amazon. That what most Amazon sellers do.

The reviews on Amazon are for a totally different product lol. What a blunder

That happens all the time with Amazon. I see it on nearly every product I look at, have to take those reviews with a pinch of salt tbh.

    Any good?

It will be terrible tbh. Best to get something from a decent brand like this: TP-Link N300 Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender, Broadband/Wi-Fi Booster, Plug and Play, WPS, UK (TL-WA854RE) amzn.eu/d/c…4GN

Generic item occasionally shifted from £1.99 FBA (that I almost purchased last week).
Current low price is about £6.99 FBA, but not via a seller that will tick HUKD hilarity, so Keepa link only:
    keepa.com/

If comfortable wasting £10.19 why not waste a few pounds less to benefit from dual band and less dull spec at £5.99 FBA:
    keepa.com/
that suited my non-critical application perfectly.

If excited by lots of long antennae,
this £7.99 FBA dual band item is the one for you

are these worth getting if your getting 10Mbs less than whats coming in to your house?
    Alex_H's avatar
These are not with getting for any reason. And the issue your having could be caused by many things.

Just to be sure, are you saying that your losing 10Mbs of the broadband speed you should be getting? Who is your internet provider? What device are you checking the speed on and how far away from the router are you when you test it?

Change your WiFi router to Mesh WiFi.
This type of extender is no good. I used extender for 3-4 years and changed to Mesh WiFi aftewards. I regretted I didn't change it earlier. (edited)

If you see this and think that it's remotely a good option for any situation, you'd be mistaken. If you're going to go down this route of using a WiFi extender to avoid the cost of a dedicated mesh system, at the very least go down the powerline route so the connection itself to the plug you're connecting to has somewhat of a wired internet connection to the main router.

This is one of the worst out there. Mine broke.

I would recommend a TP-Link one instead, mine works well for over a year and everyone has good signal. It was actually better reach that the router.

Other's recommend Mesh systems which is another option, though more expensive, and generally only needed if you have a extra large/tall or awkward shaped property.

Just had mine delivered. Took about 5 minutes to set up.
I’ve just walked to the end of the garden and I still have internet connection, so it seems to have worked for me.
    kmkuk's avatar
Yes it works but there is significant drop in speed. You may wanna test the connection speed and compare.

I had one of these it made the WiFi worse. Threw straight in the bin
