    For any techies out there.

I have a old NAS that has loads of media.
The company that made it no longer support it so have lost access.
Is there a way to regain access?

I open the device but it does seem to be a normal HD. Any ideas?

See if you can hook it up to your laptop/PC directly using a USB cable, it may be picked up as an external drive in the first instant and therefore allowing you access.

Any advantage on installing this in a lower end model synology NAS?

Depends on if you have 10gbe networking already? Otherwise you're capped at 1gbe anyway?

Just to day that I have 2 synologys and I put a 10gbe card from amazon by 10GTek in then. It has worked in them all with no problems. Given that they are a third of the price, I'd recommend getting them instead. (edited)

was it also mini or just standard PCI?

Great price. Hope Amazon price matches. A bit annoying these models do not have this as standard feature.

I am a complete novice with my first EUFY security camera last year as someone was tampering with my car. Problem is it only takes a 128gb so card which stops working and cannot be formatted so every few months I have to buy a new one. Is  this NAS drive thing something I can buy for storage instead?

    This doesn't sound right.

Would I see any benefit of installing this in my Synology within my home network. I mainly run Plex via Nvidia shield from it.

I'd like to know too. I have a 10GbE network ready, but I'm guessing in a home environment with only 4 family members (rarely all writing/reading to the NAS at the same time), will it get any benefits from the extra bandwidth?
