can you use Amazon to control these away from the home **without** using the Hue Hub?

Yep, no hub here, using the Alexa app for control and routines for multiple Hue lights.
Used to be glitchy and they were sometime losing connection with Alexa till a year ago, but I guess the software update finally brought solid connection, haven’t had any issues for a while.

I have some of the older versions from 2017 and I’ve had nothing but problems with them, one of them kept over heating and turning off and another one doesn’t turn off at all even in off mode it still has a smaller glow, I had to put it in the toilet so it didn’t annoy me. The customer service is not great. My problems are with an Oder model so I hope they fixed these issues.

One of my newer bulbs has done this, There was a leak into the pendant which has now been resolved and a different build doesn't do this. But the bulb that was in that pendant is now on all the time.

The app says it's off but it isn't. Slight glow to it as well.

I'm not sure of the older round style bulbs TBF as I've only had one second hand from cex and I took it back cos it took a good 15 seconds to go from on to off. Would turn off and slowly fade away.

And and I think this deal is now expired (edited)

Wonder when we'll see the new energy ratings start to reach C and above! Makes it look like they are poor if you don't know it's changed!
