Similar to the TR718L4B - not as much of a bargain as that model - but a good option for those considering an upgrade!

Features that differ from the 7000 series include:
- A larger screen
- An Inverter Motor (8000 series) versus an Asynchronous Motor (7000 series)

The inverter motor allows for the motor’s speed and torque to be controlled by varying the frequency, making it highly efficient and capable of precise speed control. It is also potentially quieter (according to a which.co.uk review, though both machines are rated at 66dB).

Specification
  • Heat Pump: Our 'A' rated tumble dryer uses heat pump technology, which works like a refrigerator in reverse, to achieve this unprecedented energy efficiency. The energy consumption is so low, it actually exceeds the requirements for an 'A' energy rating by 40%. So you get all the benefits of tumble drying at a much lower running cost.
  • ProTex drum: With this patterned drum, your clothes benefit from the most efficient airflow and have room to stretch out for less tangling and creasing.
  • Delay Start: Delay start option ensures your laundry is ready exactly when required and helps to reduce creasing and musty odours.
  • Sensor dryer: Sensor drying gives you exceptional drying results and total control. Simply choose the required level of dryness on the rotary control, from 'iron dry' for slightly damp clothes to 'extra dry' for ready-to-wear results. The machine will then sense when the clothes are dried to the level specified.
  • Cotton programmes: Includes cottons - cupboard dry, cottons - extra dry, and cottons - iron dry
  • Synthetics programmes: Includes synthetics - cupboard dry, synthetics - extra dry, and synthetics - iron dry
  • Easy iron programme: The easy iron programme reduces ironing time by up to 50% through actively reducing creases in fabric caused throughout the wash and spin cycle.
  • Reverse tumble action: Automatic reversible tumble action for even crease-free drying of the laundry.

I got confused by AEG website on model comparison so thanks for all the information in post.

After the best I can get for the £400 price point.

Best it is going to is £474? I’m trying through perks at work too? Perks at work 25% off through website brings to 474 but adding extra5 and rgapr20 does nothing to the price after this but says applied

    Same

Does anyone know if this is a traditional vented dryer with a hose output or a condenser where you have to empty it manually? Thanks
    benadd's avatar
Hi, almost every dryer manufactured these days is a Heat Pump, which works in a similar way to a condenser, meaning water is drawn out of the clothes and collected in a tank you empty manually after each wash. My AEG machine (similar spec) came with a hose kit which means you can set it up to continuously drain out of the machine (as long as you can feed it out somewhere appropriate). Hope that helps.

    Forgot to mention -
You need to use perksatwork.com* and use their link to AEG to get 32% off.
Then use code RGAPR20 to get 20%.

EXTRA5 might not stack with the code above but it will be added automatically anyway. (edited)

As mentioned in previous comments - EXTRA5 has expired but you don't really need that code.

Perksatwork.com* 32% off and RGAPR20 20% still valid and will get you 380.

Only possible via Perks at Work I’m afraid.

Just a word of thanks to the OP for this - decided against the cheaper one at £276 and went for this for the better specification, but primarily because of the 5 year warranty included instead of 2 years. Well worth the extra £104!!!

    £490 for me?
  14. Matholwch's avatar

Don't see the warranty information anywhere

Can you fit it to heat your house

These do look great, but lots of reports these are basically shinier Electrolux/Zanussi products and Which suggests they have poor reliability. Any one with a recent AEG and has a different view? (edited)
    damascus's avatar
AEG is one of the best appliance manufacturers and this comes with a 5 year warranty. You’ll always see bad reviews for anything if you go out looking for it
  17. damascus's avatar
5 year warranty on this vs 2 years on the 7000 series and slightly better machine so worth the extra £100 for 3 years imo
    Daveee's avatar
Does anyone have experience with their warranty claims? Wondering if they are quick to fix and don't find loopholes to reject claims based on wear and tear etc.

I need help with perskatwork.... Can't fing aeg
    parishilton1's avatar
Weird, I typed AEG in the search at the top and it came up with "AEG UK" as top suggestion.
  19. parishilton1's avatar
Anyone manage to square the product comparison? Depending on whether you go through the portal or not the comparison suggests the major difference between this and the 9kg is that it has no light or "hygiene cycle" and a smaller display. According to the page features it does have a light. Which just leaves "hygiene cycle" and smaller display? The specs state that the 9kg/8kg drum capacity is the same, which is not what I expected. What would it cost to dry a normal load with the energy price cap?
    dannymccann's avatar
My Logik heat pump dryer used 1kwh today to dry a 9kg load of mixed items so about 30p?
  21. meowmaow123's avatar
Voted hot, thank you - got the 9000 series for £490. Absolute steal, was posted on HUKD last time in Feb for £920!! Hope it also comes with a five-year warranty - struggling to understand this on the site!
    parishilton1's avatar
It's 5 years. Couldn't decide between the 8kg or paying more for 9kg 8000 series. Realised the top of the range 9000 was only £20 more than the 9kg 8000 and A+++ - so I'll hopefully make back the difference eventually. Now I can get on with my life!
  22. Grimfandango67's avatar
Right you lot stop it lol ordered the deal yesterday for the 7 series now having to cancel because this is such a brilliant deal for just over £100 more the extended warranty is worth that alone. Many thanks for a brilliant web site that makes my wallet lighter everyday

Just a reminder that heat pump dryers are intended for use inside the house rather than in a garage/outhouse. Invest in a vented or condenser if looking a dryer elsewhere.
  24. JonnyS's avatar
But don't heat pump dryers work by taking heat out of your room? If so, won't they still use the same amount of energy as a dryer with its own heater, but thst energy is attributed to your heating system instead of to the dryer?
    DarrenR's avatar
not exactly. they recirculate the heat / cooling in the same circuit
  25. JonnyS's avatar
The product description says it works like a refrigerator in reverse, though. A refrigerator takes heat from the inside of its cabinet and deposits it into your room (which is why the back of a refrigerator gets warm). Doing that in reverse suggests that the dryer takes heat from your room, although I suppose it might return the heat to the room after using it to dry your laundry?
  26. n0chex's avatar
Ah I went through Bluelight which is same 25% off
  27. Cheryl_Ashford's avatar
I have tried to get this deal at £380, just not happening
    Newbold's avatar
    See above.

Signed up the AEG newsletter and got 10% off so bought for £427 with perks at home link
  29. G_cr's avatar
I've gone through Perks and can see a washer dryer for £429. However, when I click on it / add it to my basket, it goes up to £599 & no other discount codes are working. Is anyone else having this issue?
    Newbold's avatar
I think you’ll find that the offer’s expired.
