This isn’t the greatest motherboard. Bottlenecks at 128gb ram

Useless fact of the day? Who is using 128gb ram on a regular basis??

Had a couple of AM4 HDV motherboards and had issues with overclocking. VRM just didn't have the chops. Any difference with these?

Edit. Looking for a cheap move to AM5. Well, cheap as possible. Now's the time while my gfx card still good. Overclocking not really an issue tbh these days. But edging out extra is a bad habit (edited)

Asrock has really fixed up since AM4, their AM5 mobos perform well across the board. On the budget side they got lots of options including the Pro RS and PG Riptide.

The ones to avoid is the Asus Prime boards, poor vrms and thermals.

Good Board for the Money. Built a 7500f system in one a few weeks ago.

Oddly no ARGB headers on the board so if you have any fans with one you will need an external controller.

Only two RAM sockets, does not really matter ATM as you are probably buying new DDR5 anyway. 4 Years down the line are you going to put another 32GB in to make 64GB, probably not. On the plus side that does mean you don't need to look up the manual on which channels to use when you have a 2 sticks kit

The next step up in Asrocks range is ASRock B650M Pro RS for £26 more and fixies these if they are issues for your build.

Good price for this, really decent specs. The main concession is the 2 rather than 4 ram slots as noted here

Better RAM overclocking and compatibility with 2 dimm boards though, which may be important for later AM5 CPU's. 24Gbit IC's mean 96GB is possible with 2 sticks and is enough for 99.9% of people. (edited)
