Its good that these are coming down in cost, but I think its too little too late. Wifi 7 is ratified since Jan and while the current crop of wifi 7 gear has a very high early adopter tax, as soon as something affordable is available I'll go straight from my asus AC meshed routers to wifi 7 meshed routers.

Yeh sadly it's not often just swap them over. I don't know anything of the router you speak of. On some routers you can switch them in to "modem" mode. And then you can plug 1 cable from that to this new router and then do the proper router functions from this. Maybe someone else can advise

The Get deal link works for me. Maybe the mods edited it. (edited)

No but if you turn it upside down. It makes a scary looking robotic spider

I know this will seem a really stupid question, however this seems to be one of the more forgiving forums out there. I’m a complete novice with tech really and worry about how easy it is to change over from a normal router to one of these. I’m with County Broadband currently using one of their standard routers. Is it just a case of unplug my current router and then plug this in and it just works or is it likely to be more complicated?

It’s not that difficult, plenty of guides available that’ll guide you through it and even the setup processes are fairly robust; but sometimes it’s not even possible (certain routers won’t work with certain UK ISPs).

Preparing in advance, getting hold of the usernames and passwords you’ll need makes it a breeze.

Might be easier to answer your question if you confirmed your current ISP and package? (edited)
