remember to turn Cross play off and dodge the pc cheaters
  3. sadbuttrue's avatar
a lot of the issues are fixed and the new map is a call back to Bad Company 2 days, well worth it at this price point

You twisted my arm into buying it

Does this have any single player campaign or just online multiplayer?
    anuruddha's avatar
    Only online
  5. braddock71's avatar
is this one pay to play - as in buy crates or whatever they are for better weapons?
    vinsona85's avatar
nope. You only have to pay for cosmetics or the Battle pass.. ie want the newly released weapons early .. for 'better weapons' you get attachment unlocks when getting xp.. but you can farm bots and still get the kills/xp. (edited)

bf v also on sale £6 odds.

If this had an offline story mode like the others i would buy it, but since its online muliplayer only count me out. Rather dig out the ps3 and play hardline again.

Loads of update, QOL and content added since launch. Well worth 6 quid.

It was mostly bots when I played recently.

Is there a time of day where servers are mostly human? (edited)

EA should pay you £5.99 to take this game off of their hands!
I decided to dip back into BF4 on PC after like 10 years away and it's so much more enjoyable than this, and the kicker is that I always found BF4 to be more frustrating and less fun than all of its predecessors (I've played them all except Modern Combat). IDK how DICE manage to make them less appealing with every generation...

Quite simple really they keep trying to fix what isn’t (wasn’t?) broken.

Worth a punt for that price. Ordered

I play this, I'm awful at it. But feel like I serve a purpose as kill fodder for everyone else. That considered i am on 12gb download speed...

I don't hate many things but I'll make an exception for BF 2042.

How the mighty BF franchise has fallen, tragic really

    Ooo look a game for a fiver,oh no it's BF2042,a disgusting game

I've played most of the battlefields and none really launch well. Somehow they seem to get worse at launching.

It's now pretty good and at this price is worth it. Theyve just launched season 7 with a new map haven which is pretty good.

You can also play some of the older maps from bf3 or bad company 2 in certain playlists.

It’s not a bad game, I have over 1700 hrs but then I am mentally ill.

Sadly this game is not worth it even for free, and i loved the bf games back on pc and 360 many moons ago. Literally not worth its own file size on your hdd which is a sorry state of affairs sadly

How is this hot, sheep in here seeing a AAA game for £6 not knowing how dreadful it is
    yhyhyhyhyh's avatar
This is a discount website not metacritic.

It's not that hard to understand. (edited)

This game is terrible. Even for "free" on gamepass, spent a few hours on it, loved a few other battlefield (2, bad companies battlefield 1,5,1943, both starwars) games, this is hot garbage. Avoid.
    RichtersParty's avatar
Agree. Even the much maligned BF Hardline absolutely obliterates 2042. It's a bin fire.

I purchased this on pre-order when it first came out, and ended up mainly sticking with BF1 and BFV because it wasn't that good, however, since that time, the game has evolved - the specialist class system is still rubbish though, but that is what it is.

The maps are never going to compare with those in BF1, neither is the immersion, but it has loads of content. Yes, you sometimes end up playing with lots of AI bots in the game, but generally the servers are quite well populated with real people. Season 7 recently dropped, so even more content to peruse.

And of course, if you get bored with the standard games modes, there is always something going off in Portal.

For this money, it's certainly worth a punt.

What's the total install size does anyone know?
    cheesebrain's avatar
    About 80GB

Get it just to play Portal

I was going to order this then I remembered I had it on PS+ and never got around to it.
  26. daz_75's avatar
If you are planning to play any bf title dont make it this one. Truly awful, by far the worst version. Get BF5 instead its head and shoulders above this. I've played every single BF game
    RichtersParty's avatar
BF1 tops V imo. The immersion is second to none in the entire franchise.
  27. cheesebrain's avatar
I believe it’s free weekend at the moment, so you can try before you fork out loads of money for it.
  28. matt139's avatar
An absolute shambles and a complete insult to previous bf games. For £6 it’s worth a pickup if you want to try it out especially as it is cross platform.
  29. Borisnova's avatar
Thanks, seems a good game for 6 quid.....
