Can anyone explain in simple terms whether this setup (doorbell and 2 external cameras) will work without a sub? I can see some comments about using a USB stick in the sync module - does this mean all 3 devices will work without a sub? Getting myself tied up in knots looking at video doorbells that do/do not have a sub and stumbled on this myself on Amazon this morning, thought it seemed a good deal but wanted to check on HDUK first!

    Essentially the answer is yes.

You will need to buy yourself a USB stick, then you plug that in to the sync module. Then in the Blink app you can tell it to store all the recordings on that instead of purchasing the cloud subscription.

Most of these bundles will come with a free trial of the cloud sub, so you can use that for a bit and swap at the end. I assume you can change it to use local storage from day 1, but not 100% sure as I didn’t do that.

    Hope that helps. 🏻

As long as your router is in range and you point the camera somewhere it’s not going to trigger every two mins then these cameras battery’s will last. Otherwise the battery will use its energy searching for WiFi and last a month if you are lucky.

Question please, Do you have to sign up to Amazon for £80 yearly? thanks

No need. You can use a USB stick and keep the footage there.

Is there going to be new versions. Thats why the price drop and offers?

I don't know the answer to your question but this may be relevant.
There seems to be a later version but it may not be in the UK. (edited)

I have the previous gen Blink. Is there any significant advantage in upgrading to this? I hear you now have to pay a sub for cloud storage but is there an option to use an SD card instead?

With the synch module you do not need a subscription & can plug a USB memory stick into the synch module to record

Does the sync module that’s in the photo also come with this?

Do these have any security flaws?

I have a few blink mini cameras at home but I do not have sync module. I used to have subscription. One thing that annoys me is if the Internet gets disconnected the camera will not be accessible even if home network (LAN) is still active.

Worst cameras ever and blink app does not even work properly waste of money paying for subscription. Go to companies that don’t charge subscription !

    Like who???
I've got Ring. Bit too much set up. I could change or swap it all out. I do not want to mess about and would prefer something like Blink with the Sync thingy. any ideas??
im going round in circles and end up back at the start.. wishing I never bothered with this crap and just had a doorbell!!!

Hopefully not a daft question but is the doorbell wireless as well? It states "Connect to existing doorbell wiring or pair with a Sync Module to engage live view and two-way audio on demand.". I do not have doorbell wiring at my house which I only realised when I last bought a Ring wired doorbell and couldnt easily fit it! Thanks in advance.

I was thinking of buying 2 eufy cameras with homebase plus eufy s210 doorbell (£225 combined). This blink package is £137 cheaper tho - anyone got any experience of blink vs eufy? Wondering if worth paying the extra for eufy
