About this deal

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Latest Costco petrol price at Leeds is £1.39.9 for unleaded. This may not be news to others but I was just checking after my Newcastle friends were at their Costco and said it was £1.42.9 so I checked my store's price. Seems decent to me when many other places in Leeds are still in the 150s.
UPDATE. I know this is from the PetrolPrices app because I was not aware Costco show prices for each location on their web sites. In this case, the web site for Leeds mirrors the app details.

No need for the petrol prices app to check either, costco publish the prices for each store on their website

I have to now do a 50 min round trip to my nearest costco.
Usto be ok until the "Isley" brothers took over Asda and jacked up the prices so everyone else followed.

I drive a 67 Yaris, would the premium fuel any better for me, like more power or better fuel economy. Heated. (edited)

If your engine or injectors are clean anyway, adding premium fuel will do nowt. The "premium" factor adds more than average detergents. It is a common misconception that higher RON fuel is more energy dense than regular 95, it isn't. The higher the RON number, the more fuel you can inject per combustion cycle without pinking because there are additives to make it less volatile. High output engines need higher octane fuel so they can derive that extra power, with extra fuel added.
On the EA888 2.0 engine that the Golf GTI/R, A3/S3 use variants of, those with an output lower than about 270hp can derive than on RON95. Your 8V or 8Y S3s, or MK7 or MK8 Golf R will need RON97 or higher.

Adding RON97/98/99 to a car with a low to medium output is a waste of time and money. (edited)

I just need the petrol unleaded
I used to put cheap tesco fuel in and several times it damaged the injector on my car.
so lately I have been using Shell unleaded and it seems okay.

Is basic Costco unleaded same as tesco or Shell?

I used to fill up exclusively at Asda, but after several months my engine wasn't running as well and mpg was down. Switched to Costco and within a few tanks it had perked back up again, so I can say it's definitely better than what Asda sold around 4-5yrs ago.

can we use a Costco gift card to pay for fuel, if do not have a membership?
    PaulandPam's avatar
No, plus you also need to be a store member to buy fuel at their stations

Costco fuel prices are good but I've known people to wait over an hour in the queue so surely it's pointless as they would have burnt the savings by then 🤦‍♂️. If its quiet it's worth it but whenever I go to Costco or drive past there's massive queues for the petrol station.

never been an hour at Watford Costco. Even when heaving its max 20 minutes. I filled up on Sunday and diesel was £1.49.9

There is a misconception about queues, but never waited more than 10-15 mins and saving nearly 16/20p compared to other places.

    Watford Costco 139.9
Stanmore / Edgware Tesco Esso 158.9

19P difference on a full tank and mind you it’s literally on a straight road on either end, so saving £10 on a full tank!

All of a sudden Diesel is more expensive than unleaded again..

Was only a few months ago Costco Diesel was 130.9 and unleaded 133.9
    Toon_army's avatar
Yeah a couple of months ago 134.9 for diesel as I remember seeing it when I filled the tank to drive down London. Local now is 154.9

What is Costco fuel like is it same quality like supermarket fuel or more premium like Shell?
    sab's avatar
It's all the same, though Diesel Costco supposedly add additives

The Leeds Costco opened in 1997 and I've been a member since then. It only got a petrol station a few months ago when a building next to it became available and was demolished to allow the station to be built.
