Remember if in hot climes like the South of France blow these up to a couple of psi lower than recommended, if you don’t you could end up scaring your neighbours with an explosion like a terrorist bomb and I’m not joking, I use a quality electronic inflator which has a pretty accurate pressure gauge, when mine exploded and I rang the dealer I was told that oh ignore the recommended psi if in very hot weather and go 2 or so psi below, everyone knows that! I had to use some old borrowed poles to get by, If you can’t find any your absolutely stuffed!

That's a good tip, especially if you put it up at night when it's cooler

Surprised they're 'allowed' to use the phrase 'man' these days.

Same situation here - I think this one is too small for a family of four, even with young kids.

The Quechua Air Seconds 4.2 F&B looks like a better bet, but they haven't reduced that in a long time. Cheapest is here as far as I can see:

The general rule for camping is that, for a family of 4, get an 8-person tent. I took this on board when buying our family tent a few years back. At the time, the 10-person tent was cheaper than the 8, so I went for the 10. My wife, I, and two kids now camp in a Palace 😄 10 might be a bit too big for 4, a 4 certainly won't be big enough for 4, though.

Guess it depends on your needs. When I camp I plan to sleep in it and that's it, if you're intending to literally live in it for a week maybe you do need an 8 person for 4 people.

Admittedley I got this for 2 people (and little dog) so hoping will be spacious enough.

How is headroom in the bedroom in your opinion?

Very surprised that an inflatable tent doesn't include a pump

I wonder if it gets hot in the sun if its black inside?

No, the Fresh & Black range do in incredible job of remaining cool inside even on hot days. Plus the blackout means you can have a lie in (assuming your camp site neighbours aren't too rowdy).

My first tent. Getting it for 2+1. Can I get some advice please. Will I have to buy additional sheet or something to lay it on the floor before putting this up? Any other essentials that I need to get along with this? Thank you

We bought a tarpaulin sheet that covered the ground diameter of the tent or just about.

The big question here..... what happens when these develop a leak ?
Do I have to replace the entire tent ?

I notice some inflatable tents have replaceable inflatable elements.
The last time I looked, the Decathlon tents did not.

I suppose it's possible to patch them in theory, but in practice, they might leak on a corner or a seam and be difficult to repair ?

My expectation is for a tent to last about 20 years if I use it for 2~3 weekends per year. An expectation that has been fulfilled by all past tents, such as Khyam ones etc.

They are covered by a 5 year warranty. Outside that Decathlon do have a repair service which can repair the inflatable tubes. I don't think they're easily user repairable as they seem to be bonded in place.

I've got the bigger Air Seconds 5.2 and absolutely love it - loads of room in there and it really does stay cool, at a festival on a scorching hot weekend last year we were able to comfortably sleep until mid-morning whilst all our friends were forced out of their tents not long after the sun came up.

The only downside as with all air tents is the extra bulk and weight compared to a pole tent, but I love the fact that I can put it up by myself in a few minutes with minimal effort.
