Things to do? Buy a vaporetto tourist card and just enjoy taking the waterbus around to all the little islands. Visit the churches, go for an ice cream, visit a public beach, walk over Rialto Bridge, and just take in the sights, etc. You don't need to "do" a lot in Venice, it's easy to to just enjoy being there.

Venice is a place right by gangsters it is not what you think I was there never ever again I would go smelly dirty expensive absolutely pointless to go there. I would go anyway but not that place is why paying money for something that’s not worth it if they pay me on top, I wouldn’t go there. Very commercial expensive place unless you want to go there take photos and show people I have been to Venice but I promise you you will not enjoy it.

I went to Venice and I thought it was absolutely stunning, easily one of the most scenic place I've ever been to. I enjoyed just taking the vaporettos around and exploring the little islands, visiting churches, seeing the sights, and appreciating the enormous history of the place. So if you wouldn't go there then that's fine, you do you, but don't make out like it's some horrible place that people should avoid just because you didn't happen to enjoy it.

Op, you always post superb deals. On this one I have to point out that Venice is very run down, smelly and dirty. After visiting a couple of weeks ago was such a disappointment, this is mainly due to graffiti and dirt. An example - St Marks Square, the paving needs a good clean. It is less on the romantic side than you would think. Every other shop is commercialized and full of tacky Venetian masks. (edited)

Each to his own, I was in Venice last September, and it was great (being my 2nd visit).
