    What’s the benefit of these vs the Ring spotlight cameras?

    I'm replacing my old ring floodlight camera for one of these, the main reasons being;

    • This has dual cameras, one wide field of view, one zoomed. Ring doesn't*.
    • This has controlled brightness for the floodlights, handy in the middle of the night. Ring doesn't*.
    • This has 360° surveillance and AI tracking. Ring doesn't*.
    • This works on 2.4ghz and 5ghz. Ring doesn't*.
    • This can work and record without a subscription. Ring doesn't*.

    *AFAIK

    So got this on order. Plan to mount on garage wall which is rendered. Can I attach direct to surface (pipe the wire into the garage, silicone bead around) or do I need an additional back box in between the camera and wall (and if so any recommendations)?

    Thanks

    I'll be attaching mine straight to the wall. No back box.

    I'd imagine you could do either though, whatever you think will look nicer for your install.

    Yes the price has dropped back down to what it was a month ago. (Actually £10 more, it was £109.98 last month) (edited)

    Well shoot, not PPPoE. Does that not provide enough power for a floodlight?

    Does anyone know once the the product goes out of stock is it likely to come back in stock during promotional period ?

    It might but the window is tight. I'm sure it was the same price at £145 about 6 to 7 weeks ago. So it's likely they'll drop the price again at some point in the near future if you miss it.
