Like one of the other posts, I have had one bottle of this a few years back and it was around £100.
It was only one bottle to go off, and yes it was an amazing whisky but I preferred the Glendronach 18.

BUT, saying that I did have one bottle of the 18 that wasn't so hot and a couple that were amazing, but they may well have been 25 year old's (apparently Glendronach did that for a while).

I am too poor for £160 for this. A bottle of the 18 for around £100 I would probably go for.

That’s £150+ these days. Given the choice I’d spend an extra £10 on this as the 18 stopped being older than the age statement after 2019. I have a 2020 bottle of the 18, but it was only £85 when I picked it up. Glad I grabbed a couple of 2022 bottles of the 21 year old 😁

I paid £109.56 for this on 11/04/2021 from Amazon. I can’t believe how much more this costs now, three years later.

And 3 years ago I could afford to turn the heating on

This normally sells for around £200 and it's a great whisky so this deal definitely should be going hot, not cold.

Yes definitely hot price. More than most people would spend, but that's beside the point.

This will always be a classic. Better version of Macallan, at 1/10 of the price.

Nice malt for £100. What it was 3/4 years ago. If I had £159 to spend, I’d be scoping the auctions. Bargains to be had, and this particular bottle could be have for £140 Inc fees and delivery. 🏻

Could you please let me know which auction site?

I used to spend a fortune on cigars from these guys.

I’m very tempted to plump for this now but spent too much on whisky lately. Great deal OP

Very nice, in fact the whole range up to the 21 is beautiful

Great to have with your fish and chips of a Friday night after a hard day at work like. Lovely stuff I could drink all night - and sometimes do.

If you have trip to Bulgaria you can take premium Brandy, excellent quality Black Sea Gold Pomorie 33 XO Brandy or 25 XO years

    52611062_1.jpg

In any specialised street alcohol shop for 75 to 110 levas - which is £34 - £49

Unfortunately it’s too expensive to buy from online magazine in uk. Almost a double

But excellent gift. My colleague really appreciate it when I bring this as a gift (edited)

Sounds great. There’s a Bulgari store in Selfridges in Manchester but they normally sell over priced watches and jewellery. It’s great that they are now expanding into the bargain booze sector

this or glenfarclas 25 yrs at 149£ ??

Glendronach 21 is the better dram of the two. 100%. For disclosure, I’m a massive Glenfarclas fan, but it really suffers from being bottled at 43%. Such a stupid decision not to enhance the abv in these modern enthusiast times.

It depends on the bottling year, but some of the Glendronach 21s contain whisky that must be up to 27 years old.

Anything bottled up to 2022 is older than 21 years due to the distillery being closed. (edited)

acc to company , this is 23 bottling

Lovely, thanks for that and congrats on your collection.

I have tried to find a similar whisky to the Glendronach’s and heard Glenallachie was close but I’ve been a but disappointed with the 15.

Glenfarclas was quite good but bit inconsistent. Any recommendations?
    Dadbid's avatar
I like the Glenallachie 15, but it’s got a different profile to the Glendronach 15 in my opinion. I’m yet to try the rebranded Glenallachie 15, but a side by side review by whisky Jason on YouTube felt the older version was better. I’m yet to open my glenallachie 18 (older bottling) so can’t comment either way.
    A couple of strong recommendations:
AnCnoc 18 is lovely & a sensible price
Craigellachie 17 is great & sometimes drops under £100
Speyburn 18 is well regarded by many, although I’ve not tried it yet.
AnCnoc 24 can still be found at around £150 if splashing out
If you want to move away from sherry cask the Deanston 18 remains excellent quality & value for money

Also the Cotswold Distillery has an amazing single cask sherry bomb at £125 (edited)

Super thanks for that. Glendronach 18 is my all time favourite, followed by the Glendronach 15.

Will take a look at the others before I buy another bottle of Glendronach 15!!

I fell in love with the glendronach 15 this Christmas. It’s sooo silky, like liquid chocolate. Definitely need to replace!
