I'll always recommend these. Just last week I had some lamb shanks leftover from deboning some lamb legs for a roast. Quick browning in a pan, browned some onions, ginger/garlic paste, tinned tomatoes, curry spice mix and pressure cooked for 20 mins, finished with some yogurt, coriander, and a tin of chickpeas = amazing deeply flavoured traditional curry after work that you'd think had been simmering for hours.

The most useful feature too is the auto keep warm setting after it finishes cooking. It'll keep any food at a food safe temp for up to 10hrs automatically. So you can put, e.g, bone stock on just before work / bed and know that you can come and deal with it later.

TBH, it is way too small to be useful. It takes time for the cooker to build up pressure and cool down. You normally want to cook more each batch.

each to their own - we have this one and find it just right - feeds four easily. 5.7L is not small imo, and it works the same as most/all pressure cookers.

This is one of the best gadgets we've ever bought. Food tastes much better than from a slow cooker. As with any pressure cooker it takes 10 minutes to get up to pressure . Perfectly reliable to put on timer before before work and be ready for dinner or set off cooking before you go and reheat.

I have one of these and love it; at this price it's an absolute bargain.

Great price, and it works great.
Put a large, cheap beef or pork joint in, pressure cook for an hour, meat so tender it falls off the bone. Great for when you don’t have 6 hours for the slow cooker.
curiously it also makes amazing creme caramel in 25 mins.

Can anyone recommend good recipe sites or apps to use with the instant pots? (edited)

Well, you could always start with Instant Brands own app, nowadays called “Instant Connect”… and now requiring signup. Then tell it (Your Kitchen) what sort of Instant Brands appliances you have, in order to show only appropriate content.

Sites backup now, ive unexpired the deal

I was worried because mine hadnt been delivered, but its just arrived so all good. Just to note as i was digging around after the site went down yesterday from Wiki

    From Wiki
"On June 12, 2023, Instant Brands filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after high interest rates and waning access to credit hit its cash position and made its debts unsustainable.[9]"

    From Google
The Instant Pot, for its part, is not dead. Cornell Capital has brought in a restructuring crew, and the brand's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing allows it to continue doing business while it seeks relief from its debts.14 Jun 2023

Just to make everyone aware, not sure the future of the company warranty wise but i know people who have had these years no issue so i think its worth a punt still (edited)

I exact same model been using for 7 years but last week it’s not heating enough & timer starts even there is no pressure!
Anywhere to repair these or I’ll have to buy the new one
Btw it’s cheaper now on offer than what I paid for 6 years ago! 😃
