    This is the market price currently. We had it so good in 2023 with SSD and RAM pricing and well it couldn't continue forever. Looks like the market is currently stable which isn't a bad thing. Predicted price increases are lower for Q2 2024 than Q1 2024.

    To be fair, DDR memory prices haven't moved a whole lot. SSDs have become noticeably more expensive though.

    Is there much / any point in going for 3600 over 3200 on a 5800x3d?

    I keep reading / watching conflicting things.

    no, absolutely not. generally the performance advantage from the X3D chips come from that big old memory cache meaning programs, mostly games, can store their data most needed for game logic (usually a very small amount) on the chip, and not have to deal with the latency penalty of calling back into system memory.

    for this reason they are very marginally responsive to memory timings (and very high end memory kits that have been manually overclocked to tighter timings paired with, say, a 5800X can narrow the performance gap) in most gaming scenarios.
