Used to be indestructible boots, at least until the inner lining went but that took some serious effort. When they became impossible to buy for under fifty quid I switched to sub £20 steel capped boots, so it now looks like a quality hit to get the price down but keep their margins up. My current crop, sourced from links here and aliexpress, are very hard wearing despite the low price so not going back to Magnum. Ex-factory | doubt if these cost more than a quid to make.

Can you send me some links please Klaus...... I'm looking for my next pair.

    Quality boots. Heat

I'm on my second pair since November, the first pair the inside failed at the heel, the second pair, the sole is starting to come away. They're cheap, but you get what you pay for. Can't see them lasting 6 months.

Oh dear, well it could be trial & error then with his first pair of Police boots! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Get some Altbergs and don't look back

100% agree. I’ve had the same pair all Altbergs for 7 years and still going strong despite some pretty ‘heavy’ use. Well worth the investment.

Magnum aren’t the best boot for police. Save your money and put it towards a better brand. Take it from someone who’s done the job for 20 years!

Welcome to HUKD congratulations on your 1st deal

All my Magnums the last few years have developed a creaking, clicking noise within a year or so. I always have reinforced sole and toe cap. Disappointed tbh, my 511s have been ok.

Not good for sneaking up on criminals then lol

Looks good very tempting, but the recent reviews about a drop in quality are a little concerning

It's like most things these days, tell me of one man made product that hasn't been watered down or cheaper ingredients used to save on overheads and maximise profits

I’ve had several pairs of these over the years and the quality isn’t the greatest but I’ve certainly seen worse boots which are more expensive.
These aren’t waterproof at all but it gets heat from me as I doubt you’ll find them anywhere else cheaper!

Awful boots. I use them inside for majority of my job. They are falling to bits and they aren't very breathable. They used to be good but nowadays I wouldn't pay my own money for them
  12. Doods1875's avatar
Terrible boots, they won't last. As above, buy Altberg. More expensive but guaranteed to last years.

Haix is the way to go

Bought some magnum zip ones for my first pair which were okay for about 6 months.
Upgraded to haix as soon as I could and never looked back.

Cheap boots are a false economy

Thanks for sharing your find as your first deal post to the community , It's a shame about the mixed reviews for your post, but to me that is the best part of our community, fellow members sharing their experiences regarding your deal , Congratulations on getting your post past the hot mark too (100+ heat). .

Thank you for kind support, much appreciated. Absolutely agree with sharing all experiences! 🤞🏼🤞🏼Fingers crossed, our entry level purchase will be good, it was a minefield of what to buy for a new recruit, if not we will be armed with benefit of recommendations & experience.

A Magnum Classic ice cream is better than these

Could anyone message me a blue light code? Pretty please

Edit. Never mind as you could get into trouble for sharing blue light codes - and we don’t want that… (edited)

I wonder what percentage of the HUKD community are trainee police, just waiting for their start date

Two pairs and have had the sole collapsing.I can't recommend sorry

These lasted a month on deployment and starting cracking and going l baggy, very unusual. I was super dissapointed. Ended up going back to my issues goliath boots which didn't have any such issues.
  22. 65_akdeano's avatar
Do they really have to supply their own boots ? Don't they get provided as part of the uniform?
    richnewman's avatar
    They really do!
  23. BadCredit's avatar
Are these real solid leather, or are they made from that coated cardboard stuff?
    reddeviluk's avatar
    The latter
