You can buy the newer model vertuo pop for about £59 everywhere including nespresso direct and john lewis at the moment

Yeah but the Pop machines are rubbish in comparison to these - the Pops do look warm coffee, leak and need two hands to close so frustrating to use.

Real world example from a former proponent for Nespresso. I will say that the coffee these machines produce is good, for a machine, and I preferred it to all mainstream coffee shops.

After using it for around 2 years I think, I decided to add up all my invoices for the previous 12 months and it came to over £900, just on pods. I did the exact math at the time, and it worked out that was based on an average of 4 pods per day, 2 coffees each for my wife and I.

I immediately switched to a bean to cup machine. Higher upfront but it would easily pay for itself in 12 months, and it has. Not to mention that the coffee is significantly better, and you have the fun of trying different coffees from any vendor.

If you're someone who likes the occasional coffee but wants fuss free pods, this is still perhaps a good option, but drink more than 2 cups a day as a family, it's exceptionally bad value. (edited)

Check the prices of the pods first..
You can't get compatibles for a good few years... Mines sat in shed.. purchased the l'0r deal with 150 pods a while back and compatibles from Costco £17.99 for 120 pods ( Dualit pods) original Nespresso pods

The RRP is irrelevant on these as they are the only machine Nespresso do offers on in order to force you into buying their Vertuo pods. I can’t remember the last time I saw a deal on the Original Nespresso machines.
This is an ok price for the Vertuo though.(y)

Get one of the silicone pod tops. They work. U can even use instant in it! Monster monster (creep)

Good price, shame it’s for the vertuo pods

I bought a DeLonghi touch screen Bean to Cup, plus latte milk worth £550 . Paid £240 recertified direct from DeLonghi. It was practically brand new, customer return.

I used to rave about the nespresso Vertuo until I realised I was spending over £40 a month. Deals on the pods are non-existent now. I now spend £11 a month, choice of beans, and I press one button to get my latte. Rather than using the rubbish Nespresso milk forther.

I recycle the grounds in my garden, instead of the metal waste that these pods create, Nespresso never picked the empty capsules using thier online recycle request, and I live too far from any Nespresso shop to drop them off.

Take my advice, just buy a bean to cup, I put my out for the scrap man, even they wouldn't take it!!
