Webuser mag on sale from yesterday ( fortnightly ) has a cover story about which vpn to choose and pro's & cons.Worth a go at £2.20 if your unsure,or just read it and put it back on the shelf. ( Theres a deal in its self.. pick a vpn thats right for you and save £2.20 ).They have written that your data and what you do on the vpn is kept and looked at by Big Brother from Australia,New zealand ,UK,USA and Canada. So still not totally private.
No response from NordVPN. Took my money and that was it. No email with ID and PW. Think this is a scam. I am going to lodge a dispute with Paypal tomorrow to try and get my money back.

Have been waiting for something like this for ages. My Pure VPN appears to work but reviews suggest its like a leaky bucket (you need to find a proper review restoreprivacy.com/pur…ew/)
However Nord VPN took my money without letting me review the amount. Its also gone into my Paypal pre-approved payments so it will come out every 2 years without even letting you know. At some point get in there and cancel it unless your happy to let it continue ad infinitum.
Otherwise great reviews. A proper VPN unless someone is going too tell me otherwise....please dont.

Update. Nothing in my mailbox, no id, password, or download link. hmmmmm. Will try and contact them. Will try again later before I get in contact with Paypal. The only reason I find it odd is that the response from 3 other VPNs ive used was instantaneous.

I just signed up for 3 years for $99 and it tracked almost immediately giving me £27.41 as the tracked cashback. All in all, £1.20 a month for the next 3 years isn't a bad deal.

^^ You only subscribed in November you say? You'll be lucky to get any cashback inside of 6 months if my experience of TCB and Quidco is anything to go by.

FYI, I subscribed in November through TCB, and I am yet to receive any cashbacks. I have logged a case probably 6 weeks ago now, but still not progressing.

I signed up for 2 years at $79.00 with 42% Topcashback.

The speeds have been good. Torrents generally download at the same speed they did before.

US Netflix works via the laptop. I sideloaded the app to my Firestick (V2 with Alexa), but US Netflix won't work with any server. I think you may need to set your Amazon accounts primary address to the US, otherwise it won't work.

Word of caution - My cash back did not track. I'm currently going through the process of logging a missing cash back claim. Hopefully all will get resolved.

IPvanish is blocked by the BBC iplayer web site

I couldn't access 3 years plan when accessing Nord via TCB. However I …I couldn't access 3 years plan when accessing Nord via TCB. However I managed to purchase 2 years contract. I paid £57.47 and should get £23.21, which is £34.26 for 24 months = £1.42 per month.I have deleted a promotional coupon, when I was going through the process. This brought price up, however when I was on the last page, the price was reduced again. TCB usually won't pay off the cashback, when you use codes, that's why I have removed it. I hope this makes sense and will help somebody. Cheers

I couldn't get the 3 years without the promo coupon (did try various way loading but kept reverting to full price on the Nord website).

Took the 'safer' option of doing the above (2 years, removing coupon). mine was a few pence over £57, £23 cashback just been confirmed this week - so £17 per year for me - very happy with that!

So say $99 was ~£70 and cashback declined that's £23 per year. Could've potentially got it down to approx £13.67 per year with payable cashback on the 3Y deal, but given TCB's antics on my previously valid transactions, it's too big a risk they'd have declined it IMO and would be stuck with £23 per year.

Also, although I doubted the quality of my IPTV provider, it looks like Windscribe was the issue - this has been poles apart - consistent good service, same IPTV provider. A few glitches on higher bandwidth channels, but I'm more than happy given the price. If I bought a guest round they 99% of the time (when there isn't a glitch) they wouldn't know it's IPTV vs. 'real' TV.

Beware. NordVPN stuffed the wi-fi connection on my iPad (ios10 and now ios11). When it connects, the wi-fi disappears. It does the same intermittently with my iPhone. Opera VPN and Tunnelbear work fine with them. Go for a trial before handing over your cash.

Probably the key part of the TF article is this:

If a valid DMCA complaint is received while the offending connection is still active, we stop the session and notify the active user of that session, otherwise we are unable to act on any complaint as we have no way of tracking down the user. It is important to note that we ALMOST NEVER receive a VALID DMCA complaint while a user is still in an active session.5. This has never happened in the history of our company. Our customer’s privacy is of top most importance to us. We are required to comply with all valid court orders. We would proceed with the court order with complete transparency, but we have no data to provide any court in any jurisdiction. We would not rule out relocating our businesses to a new jurisdiction if required.

If you only want to watch different TV channels, then you only need a … If you only want to watch different TV channels, then you only need a SmartDNS service. A VPN will slow your download, a SmartDNS service shouldn't. Many VPN suppliers offer it as an add-on or you can buy it on it's own and it should improve performance.

Even better to use SmartDNS servers run by VPN provider (e.g. PureVPN, PIA, Hidemyass), but only if your main purpose is privacy/anonymity.

If you don't think this is the case, than move on to DNS provider of your choice.
