I'm on o2 at the moment, and I think the signal and 5g is terrible

O2 signal is the best especially indoors but they have worst speeds. Could have full bars with 1mbps download and 0mbps upload

Existing O2 customer here - not available on "Choose tariff" via the app... Only 30GB for £8. (I'd like Disney+)

I pay £8 for 50gb with volt, seems they have put prices up slightly before the April inflation increase. Last year mine went up to 8.92 and was able to renew at £8 again. Seems they might have fixed that loophole this year by increasing it to £10. still a good deal regardless

I still have 12 months left on my current o2 contract which was included as part of my Virgin package, this is costing me £25 per month (sim only with unlimited calls, texts and data) I grudge paying this as I use minimal calls and data. But feel I had no choice to get the best deal in my virgin volt package. Am I free to switch my existing contract to this cheaper contract as an existing customer without paying any penalty?

I believe so. Try and get this deal and click upgrade using your existing number.

So, as an existing customer, I took advantage of this offer. Now I appear to have lost all my Volt Benefits. Do they come back after a while? I've tried chat support, but keep getting disconnected even though they claim its like WhatsApp!

Yeah Volt is removed as you change your contract and you need to re-apply for it via the O2 app or contacting them directly. It can take a few days for Volt to be activated as they do their checks.

I got this info yesterday via the online chat before I hit the trigger on the contract, they said to get in tough if there was an issue.

Yes and the online chat was hopeless yesterday, between them taking 5-10 minutes to answer each time and it dropping off once it took ages. better off phoning next time.

I just took out the £7.99 offer shown on here but this one seems really good, can I just go for this one now instead or am I out of luck? (edited)

If less than 14 days, you can change your mind.

The network should be rebranded Slow2. No network has worse data speeds or bandwidth capacity than this one.

I've had better signal in Zambia on a local network then o2 in middle of Wigan or Manchester. Absolute rubbish network I'd stay away

Good deal especially if you have Virgin BB - just note data speeds are very poor indoors and outdoors. I was getting <2Mb with O2 compared with >100Mb on my work EE phone. I cancelled in the first 14 days!

25gb, 50gb.. It doesnt matter how much if they dont have the network to provide it.. O2 have become shockingly bad.. I can wait to leave.

    Not voted either way .
I swapped to o2 last year . Sorry to say the experience has been bad enough for me to look forward to leaving. Constant weak/ no  signal .

I live in Bristol , lucky if I get up to 5gb data per month with 02 , shocking 4g and absolutely no 5g unless you find a mast and sit under it , cheap prices , pay for what you get .
I am out and about all the time , only benefit for me is I get to use my data allowance in France and the 4g and 5g I get over there is 10x better than Bristol , it’s clear 02 are throttling .

Very similar issues in somerset. my contract ends this week , going to ID. Recently in Germany and 90% of time I had no coverage. Wife’s ID worked perfectly.
Maybe the EDF workers are using up all of the signal.

Pre-contract documents says RPI will be added so I didn't click final confirmation

O2 RPI information on website states 2021! I wouldn't bet that March 25 is the cutoff as that maybe for previous years (edited)

You only really ever had a free Caffe Nero a week, now it's a free Greggs drink/sausage roll/bacon roll twice a week, so it's hardly any worse.

I’m on Vodafone atm, out of contract. Broadband with Virgin. I thought Vodafone network had gone slow, but o2 customers don’t seem happy either. :/

Is now a good time to switch or after April, to beat price increases?

I would check out O2 prior to cancelling Vodafone.
Voice/text is comparable but data is like night and day for me.

O2 are rubbish. Always 1 bar and 4g is well slow. Was with EE and had 4 bars and 4g+. Also its coming into April so when you take out the deal they will increase it in April. I took out my deal in march and they bump up thr price every April.

1st of April and switched tariff from my curent 30gb plan for approx £13,5 to this, as I saw that my average monthly usage was less than 10gb, so will save a few quid lol. What's great is that everything else is the same, including bolt-ons, Volt 2x, etc...Also, curious to see what happens now with the price hike!

I am an existing o2 customer. If I use this link to upgrade will it just automatically start the new contract and terminate the old one? Many thanks
