You can always turn off the wifi on the Vodafone router and wire the Xiaomi to one of the LAN sockets of the VF router. Configure the Xiaomi to operate as a wireless extender.

If you wish to replace the Vodafone router:
It won't work on Vodafone FTTC because there is no DSL modem.
It might not work on Vodafone City Fibre FTTP because it might not support VLAN IDs, but don't quote me.

It should work on Vodafone Openreach FTTP by connecting directly to the Openreach ONT. You will have to contact Customer services to request your PPPoE username and password to set up the Xiaomi.

Don't you worry it'll steal all your data? I'm not techy enough to know if that's a thing or not (despite working in IT), but it puts me off what is otherwise a great deal for a great looking device.

Took five minutes to convert to Openwrt, and a real power supply is a couple of pounds on eBay.
