it is good router and will do most people needs and the price is right

Someone asked about WIFI Signal . Answer it is same signal as ASUS expensive routers .
Why because they use the same chipset for antenna etc....
So why some routers cost £500 + etc ... because they have extra bands Like extra 5Ghz or 6 Ghz
Plus some router have 10 Giga ports where they expensive equipment just to have ....

I was comparing my self what router to get and was ready to pay say £400 for new router , but then found this one GT-AX6000 and was from amazon germany for £170

My simple advice before you buy think what equipment you have and what is your goal with Wifi speeds
Example i do not need 6 Ghz band because i do not have in my house any equipment to have benefit
only iPhone 15 pro max have 6gh this is it
If i bought router with 6Gz band and pay for this money but in reality can not use - just for 1 phone
In my situation i needed to focus to 5Gz band because this where lot of equipment using this band

No matter how good router or how many antennas LAN port is the best to use
it is better to think how to wire say Server and PC to LAN ports and leave phones and other equipment to wifi Signals

The good point with this GT-AX6000 is that you can buy another one and can use as wifi mesh

So in total you will pay £350 "2 x routers " but can cover much more dead zones instead of have single super duper router with 10 antennas

I've got the GT-AX11000 and the 5GHz secondary channel falls less than 5% short of my 1GB Connection on the PC directly above, maybe 3m and the ceiling.

Tempted to get this and run directly into my PC as a Mesh. (edited)

    Ooo.. tempting.
I may wait for eBay Promo and sell off my TUF AX5400 or GS-AX3000 and go for this if still on sale...
I love the ASUS suped up routers, never had an issue and signal is excellent, especially when meshed (as I currently have)

Worth the money? Definitely, especially when used in tandem of Virgin Routers.

In regards to WiFi 6.. if you can incorporate using this technology in your household, things will be more safer, stable and efficient. It's way more better on my phone's battery for example, due to the fact is using Target Wake Time. It uses WiFi when it's in demand and sleeps the connection when the device is no longer using the connection.

I can't say I've had issues with range, in fact, I can actually use it outside my house with a house in front of it (flat blocking it basically), it's slower but damn, that range is insane.

But I don't have a WiFi 6 compatible device? That's fine, it's backwards compatible with WiFi 4/5 devices

But do I need spend all this money for a WiFi 6 Router? Nah, this is just for those who want the best quality from a Router to provide them a higher-end experience of networking. (edited)

Any issues with the wifi signal?

I'd expect wifi 6E not 6 at this price. Or am i missing the point?
    Alvie's avatar
This is a pretty well made Wi-Fi 6 router with a lot of features and it's powerful. I've also owned a similarly priced Wi-Fi 6E router that I've replaced for this, and this is better (in terms of stability, features, performance, software, etc).

i like asus router. very stable and fast.
I'm wondering if I should get this one to replace my current ASUS AX4200 because the price is good.
    Incognitoso's avatar
NOT AT ALL Why ? if everything's works what's the point ?
Next year will be WIFI 7 routers popular etc .... or next gen CPU + WIFI chipset say better signal etc ....
Technology moves forward and very fast
GT-AX6000 possible ASUS will give another 3 + years firmware support before it will fade out ... Nothing can be done this how company makes money All company do this

Example I have RT-AC5300 spare laying around in the draws
It is good router does not cause any issues for 5 Years + Why im not using this router because with lates firmware updates looks like become slower etc .... or become old BUT the biggest issue no more security updates or no more firmware updates

Yes my new router is little faster on WIFI speeds but nothing magical if instead of 50-60 mb/s
on old router now i have maybe 70mb/s
Does it change my life NO - more faster file loaded just all

The only reason for upgrade is was no more firmware updates

Does anyone have any insight if this would be an upgrade over the router i got from vodafone? (Vodafone Pro II Broadband Ultra Hub) Ideally I want to be able to stream 4k from my pc (in my office) to my xbox downstairs via sunshine/moonlight, I found the input lag and image quality both to both not be great when using the vodafone router.
    LinaBell's avatar
Yes, I believe your streaming issue will be resolved as long as you do not use the router provided by the provider. They are simply too slow to handle WiFi and traffic.

remember folks, good router =/= good internet

Is this better then the Community Fibre Router?

Cashback is UK only? Is there an equivalent for getting of Amazon DE or not?

Need to check the difference between a WAN and LAN port too

This deal is one of the best consumer grade routers on the market these days.

If you have Virgin Media and you’re looking for a solid, cheap and reliable router then grab this. It’s leagues better than VM’s awful hub and this does 2.5Gbps LAN and WAN. Signal is amazing, this is great if you have the faster packages like M350/500/1Gig/2Gig.

Had mine 2 years on 1Gig and has been amazing everyday since then, highly recommend especially at this steal of a price

Does anyone make a descent router like this with phone outputs?
Looking to replace the cr@ppy Vodafone fibre router...but I'm one of those sad old people that actually uses the 2 on the Vodafone router.
    iby2012's avatar
I think this is a router only, so would need to set the vodaphone router into modem mode, and then that should allow you to continue to use the two ports for the phone line. Then plug this router via the WAN port into your Vodaphone modem. (need to confirm)
