A few people seem to be unhappy with this post so I've expired it. Maybe the mods can delete it. I'll have it muted from here on out

Isn't that how these sites work? You post a deal and people vote/comment, then potential purchasers get an idea how good or bad the deal is (edited)

None of the above matter if the game is a stuttering mess because your £500+ card doesn't have enough VRAM.

We've seen 6950 xt's for not much more lately

True but this will be brand new and from probably the best AMD GPU vendor in Sapphire. Another option I suppose

Rip-off price- these are well below 500 quid (converted + VAT) in the USA.

£50 more for a 6950XT, ~10-15% more FPS, bear in mind (edited)

Obviously the 6950 is a pushed-to-the-max part which shows in its poor perf/watt.

With both well tuned for efficiency, the 6950 might even enter up ahead. That's because, being the full part with undervolting and power limits applied, the 6950 may up winning by being "wide[r] and slow".

(Manufacturers pushing parts to the limit is unfortunately far too common these days. The obvious one currently is Intel whose crazy clocks on the 13900KS make it crazily inefficient. However, all the others - AMD, Intel, Nvidia - are at this too.) (edited)

Still got a 5700xt . Unless Nvidia increase their vram I've no intention of going back.

And me, I can't justify the crazy prices for a replacement, I have the cash but you would need to be mental to pay these prices and the 5700xt is around the same performance as a 6600xt maybe a little better so is still a capable card at least for now. I don't know what's happened but over a grand for a 7900xtx and £550 for a 2+ year old card the prices are ridiculous up until 2016 £500 would buy you a near top of the range card now for that money you can buy a 4070 with 8gb of ram which is madness as cards that are 6+ years old came with 8gb on board. That another reason I haven't upgraded as 8gb isn't enough nowhere near and to shell out £500+ for a gpu that's old straight away is madness, a console is a far better purchase at least you get your money's worth and the graphics are really good, I have both ps5 and seriesX and I really don't need to shell out on a gpu but if you have a high spec rig you want a latest gpu in it but unless something happens very soon to the prices of gpus pc gaming will be done as they are pricing the cards out of most people's budget or people just won't pay the stupid prices.

Cold only about £50 more for the 6950 why would you buy this.

These shouldn't still be over £500 at this point. They'll be 3 years since release in a few months, £400-450 would be a good price for a mid-high old card like this.

Cold considering £50 more gets you 2 models up

Considering it's a 2 year old GPU this shouldn't be priced as high as it but here we are

Ended up getting an ex mining 6800XT Nitro for £330 to replace my ex mining 3070 (edited)

Not that good of a deal tho, the build quality or warranty is not significantly better than the pg (510+) or red dragon(520+) in April. If this is Nitro+ it might be a lot more worthy
    Christee4's avatar
    Christee4
Exactly, not that I believe the Nitro+ are worth the premium, but they are the best Sapphire cards. The same can be said for this Pulse over the other 6800xt's currently available for £500, this isn't worth 10% more

Graphics cards are so controversial! Is this a deal purely because it's a Sapphire? I've seen the 6800xt for around this price and lower for weeks now. The XFX variants are around £50 less on Amazon unless I'm missing something. Driving myself bonkers looking for GPU'S now. Seems like the worst time to be looking at this stuff. I would have probably picked up the 4070ti that was on here over the last few days tbh

I'd check for stock daily. They had both 4070Ti models in stock yesterday and the £630 gaming version today.

Managed to grab the latter - the Gaming X Trio, earlier today. Just have to be fast. (edited)

I'm still to find out why these are only a 2 year warranty whereas Sapphire Pulse 6700 XTs are 3 year. Weird.

There was an interesting thread about Sapphire on the OcUK forum recently, where somebody was refused warranty service by them because the cards had been sold to the retailer (which was Amazon) at a discount on the basis that they would handle any warranty claims. So it seems that Sapphire at least is willing to make deals with specific retailers over warranty length and service. Gibbo (who works at OcUK) also replied to the thread and said that all custom Sapphire cards they sell come with a three year warranty. Maybe Ebuyer got a discount on this stock by having a year knocked off the warranty.

    So had I not buy a 6700XT for £492 a year ago I could've bought this instead. But then I won't have a GPU for a year...

I've just seen a leaked benchmark for the 4060ti: about 10-15% better than the 3060ti.

I bought an Asrock 6800xt which uses 3x 8 pin pci-e connectors and I had problems with supplying power to it with an 850w psy, but I also had amd expo memory instability, in my 7800x3d build.

At around the same price point though, I would consider a 6950xt if you have more than enough pci-e power connectors that can supply enough power, or even a 4070, which draws much less power, plus it comes bundled with Diablo 4. (edited)
