I bought these new for £100 a couple of years ago and it was probably one of the best purchases I've ever made, I'd never felt comfortable spending that kind of money on headphones and always cheaped out, but I'm glad I did with these, excellent sound and very light and comfortable (edited)

Just to echo what everyone else here is saying… Had these a couple years primarily as my gaming headphones. Super comfortable, like wearing a cloud. They are open back too so I can hear when someone needs my attention or someone is at the door

Had these for a few years now. Great gaming headset.

Edit: You can add a mic to this headset by using a Boompro add on as well. (edited)

Do you use them for consoles? If so what do you use to hook them up? I love them on the PC but the audio out on the console controllers or my TV headphone out(LG C1) comes out somewhat low and flat sounding.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but can I check, these are NOT noise cancelling right?
    Opethian's avatar
Nope, quite far from it. These are open-back headphones, so you will hear what's happening around you, and people will hear a bit of what you're listening to.

Do you guys know good wired headphones (or Bluetooth headphones with good wired mode) with decent ambient noise isolation (active or passive), below £100 ?

I was initially looking at Bluetooth ANCs but then realised that low latency was important to me, and apparently for most Bluetooth headphones when you wire them their sound quality drops a lot.

Whatever the configuration, I'm looking for a pair with 1. Low latency 2. Good noise isolation/cancellation, if anyone could help!

I won't say these are a perfect match for what you want, but it's a great starting point: amazon.co.uk/gp/…F4E

I mostly use headphones at home in my office. Can anyone tell me is open back or closed better?
    Opethian's avatar
I'd say go for open-back. You can hear the doorbell or other things at home if something needs your attention, but be aware of sound leakage with open-back headphones.

If you do not want to be disturbed, then go for closed-back, or go all the way with ANC ones.

These are amazing. Using the AutoEQ settings with EqualizerAPO & PEACE on Windows is highly recommended.

I've bought my HD595 about 15 years ago, still going strong.

Does it have a mic on it?

    Hi. No mic on these

Awesome deal, you'll have to spend 3 or 4 times this to get a better sounding set of reference cans
    Opethian's avatar
True. One could even argue that this is where the prominence of diminishing returns starts.

Brill headphones. I have many others but these are my go to for music and films. They are also my most comfortable headphones and i can wear them for a good few hours at a time.

I bought these on Amazon for £69.99 in 2022 superb headphones. Senheisser are my main at home listening headphones. (edited)
  15. Rumcajs_9's avatar
Got them few days ago, really good headphones, extremely comfy, well worth that price!
  16. JonDacasco's avatar
Got them today, divert them to a parcel 📦 shop (for convenience) and then kind of thinking to let them go back by not picking them up.

Reason: I have too many headphones (wired and bluetooth) that I don't use so I didn't want one more, but these are on a different level (at least for the price).

I am glad I collect them now. Brand new just the box unsealed, cables still sealed in bags.

Found two small hairs in one of the ear muffs.

Got some DNA for a clone now, fingers 🤞🏻 crossed it's not a male.

Great headphones. I used to own a pair.
  19. AJR41's avatar
Great headphones and I bought the same from their refurbished store, looked like new with no issues.
  20. hoggs's avatar
I wonder if a replacement lead can be bought with an in line mic, so the headphones could take a call?
    Opethian's avatar
There should be ones available on Amazon for around a tenner.

Bought a pair of these 6 years ago for £80 reduced from £160. Still going strong to this day. Absolutely incredible headphones.

Had arctis 7 pro for years, tried these and it’s amazing the extra level of detail you get in comparison. No going back now. Can actually hear the direction of footsteps!

I bought the HD 598 six years ago and have loved them. Nothing wrong with them still, but am thinking about getting these!
    Opethian's avatar
Hard not to at this price!
  26. tebbo65's avatar
No brainer at this price. Won't be beaten cost to performance ratio. Love mine.
  27. Lloydinio's avatar
These are nothing special. They sound ok but get really hot on your ears. The usual airy sounds of open ear headphones do not exist and these sound rather tinny at times.

    My HD518s were much superior

Bought a pair of these for £79 two years ago and still use them everyday. Best headphones I've ever owned, great for gaming and music.

  33. O.T.Grouch's avatar
OOS. Thank goodness. I really don't need a second pair but they are so good....
    Andyken's avatar
Same here . I've got an old pair of HD595s, which I love but hardly ever use since I bought some Sony WH1000-XM4s. The Sennheisers sound slightly better but Bluetooth is just so much more convenient. (edited)

Anyone had any confirmation of shipping yet?
It tells me to get a link to the Shop app to track it which I refuse to install as it asks for permission to access all your emails.

I received a shipping confirmation today. Ordered on the 6th.

    this is a good deal

shame, ive moved onto bluetooth and dont really have a decent hifi set up to appreciate these beauties
    Opethian's avatar
Here's a decent hifi set up:

These 599's will sound much better than many of the Bluetooth headphones that cost several times more. Unless you're a basshead, then the Sony's are peerless IMHO. (edited)
  38. RickyD's avatar
How would these compare in terms of sound quality to a pair of Anker Q30's?
    Opethian's avatar
Very different. This is an open-backed pair, the Q30's are closed and the noise-cancellation does affect the sound as well. I will recommend you get these so you know what the differences are, especially since the soundstage will be vastly different.
  39. reubenno's avatar
Great price, especially with some EQ!
