How much of a guarantee do they provide on this?

You get 12 moths warranty from Sony. Sony Centres which are essentially franchised Sony stores. I bought headphones from them and they provide amazing customer service. If there's any problem you can send them back to sony to get fixed easily.

Anyone got any real life experience of this? Seems well reviewed but expensive to get the full surround experience

I have the ht-a9 and ht-a7000 and I would recommend the ht-a9 over the ht-a7000 just because it is a full surround sound setup for one cost. It has better sound quality and you can pick it up brand new for £400-500 off retail. It also has superior sound quality and very easy to set up and get going. The sound quality of the ht-a7000 is quite good for a sound bar but not if your looking for an immersive sound system.
