* Blue Light Card Discount only. *

Sony have increased their BLC discount to 15% which in conjunction with the current discount already on the Sony Website makes the price of the usual suspects:

WH-1000XM4 = £169.15

WH-1000XM5 = £237.15

After a wee bit of reading I've plumped for the XM-4's as her indoors nabbed my old WH-H910N's on our last flight

I also went via Topcashback (3.15%) which most likely wont work but worth a try.

Again - this seems to be via BLC only.

Do there's have the bandwidth to play flac files at full quality? Sounds an odd question but I hear that Bluetooth for instance reencodes the audio signal and has lossy compression 🤷
    nipstyler's avatar
The maximum bit rate for bluetooth is aptX lossless is 1200kbps. Cd quality audio is 1411kbps. Current Bluetooth technology can't even match cd quality. Although in real world performance you aren't going to tell the difference. When I want to play high res I plug my headphones in via a cable. I use Audio technica m50xbt headphones because they allow this. (edited)

For those that can't get BLC discount the black mx5s are currently £255 on Amazon and you can get £6.37 instant cashback via a popular cashback app name after a filled deep fried dough based sweet good, which I cannot name as the are not affiliated with HKUD so they always delete any reference to the actual name (edited)

I think these will go below £150 soon as they try to clear stock for the new model.
    Happydayz's avatar
£50 is a reasonable price , there is nothing premium about them, cheap soft plastics, way over hyped.

I need that for family dinners
    Dusty666's avatar
Make the most of the family dinners, life is short and most of mine have passed.

Already have the XM5 but they don't fold down nicely so tend to stay at home as their case is HUGE - so have purchased a set of XM4s for more portable listening.

    Great deal, thanks for sharing

Upgraded from the 2's to the 5's.. wish I had just got these instead. The head band is far wider and more comfortable wearing for prolonged periods, the narrower band on the 5s starts annoying me eventually!

Does the noise cancelling work on this while connected wired? NC only works with my current headphones in bluetooth mode, it appears to be quite a common downside?
    Bolto911's avatar
Yes. Simply turn them on whilst wired to activate ANC In case you don’t know already you can use them wired when switched off (no ANC) which is an added bonus if your battery dies. (edited)

Anyone had a blc code to share? Thanks
    Alex_H's avatar
BLC are cracking down on code sharing, resulting in people losing accounts. So I'd ask people to refrain from asking if they can.

Had these for a few years now, use them as headphones for pc wired. Had about 1000 hours on them and still in amazing condition. Highly recommend

Exactly what I wanted to hear! 🏼

If anyone is kind enough to be able to share means of getting the discount…I think I’ll finally bite at this price!! 🙏🏼

Does anyone have any info on the WH-1000XM6's? There must be some on release soon, both previous versions are now reduced as they would be if there had been a new release, but there doesn't seem to be a new release and I've not heard any news about anything coming soon either! I have the XM5's and really like them, have some vouchers which I was hoping to spend on the next version, the only negative I have for the XM5's is that the over head band is too large for my head even on the smallest fitting. I'm hoping that they made a smaller band for the next range.

Still rocking the XM2s after about 7 years!

I've just bought some Momentum 4s so won't be buying these. Probably would have done if I didn't have the 4s though.

or if you've not got a code yet then pm me.

Would love the code, 3rd in line , if they don't need. Thanks

That a BLC code? If so, I 100% wouldn't share publicly like that. You'll end up losing your account.

Anyone know what these are like for comfort vs xm3s? I have a big head and they do get a little uncomfortable after a while.

    Amazing price for these
  23. laccc's avatar
I am still using the XM3, only occasionally btw as I prefer earphones

  25. CynicalNurse's avatar
Dumb question, do these work if you just want to block out background noise without playing anything? I got some ear defenders for my wife who is sensitive to noise but she doesn't find them comfortable. Thanks in advance.
    BB89.'s avatar
Yes of course. I do it all the time on the plane.

Hey, would anyone have a spare code? My partner wants these headphones and this would be an ideal time to bite.

How do you go about getting the extra year's warranty, just by registering them? So effectively two years in total?

Mine look like they are arriving on Wednesday

How is everyone finding theres? Anyone experiencing the infamous Sony 'headband creak'?

Mine arrived today, will test out later and report back
  35. Wibbly's avatar
Mine are a tiny bit creaky, but I would only hear it without anything playing, which is not my use case.
