Late October to mid December deal to Monte Carlo for 2 people including weekends. BA has a Passport to Monte-Carlo promo where selected hotels have complimentary Rtn helicopter transfers between Nice & Monaco in a blade helicopter (and shared onward transfer from the Heliport to your hotel). The return helicopter alone would usually cost £333 return per person. One of the hotels included in the promo is Columbus Monte Carlo. You can get 3 nights Columbus Monte Carlo superior room w/breakfast + LHR to Nice return flights with checked bags - from £288 pp based on late October to December dates. You also get free entry coupons for museums and attractions as part of the offer. Terms listed below (please note free helicopter transfers are only available for flights operating during daylight hours: services between 08.00 – 16.30, so need to cross check flight times).

You must email bahonline@holidays.ba.com (http//ho…om) within 10 days of booking confirmation with each passenger's date of birth and place of birth for the Passport to Monte Carlo to be valid - thanks

I thought it seemed a decent price given the hotel alone with breakfast for 3 nights is around £460 to £500 at booking.com, return flights to nice for 2 people with checked baggage would cost £233, and the return helicopter transfers would cost £666 for 2 people.

Just something really small: Monaco is not in the EU. So, even if you have EU roaming included in your contract Monaco might not be included. We went some time ago back when THREE had the international roaming plan, but my wife ramped out out-of-plan data cost when we went there.

We have just come back from Nice a few weeks ago. It's really beautiful there. We did a day trip to Monaco Monte Carlo. There is free wifi there as well.
The trains from Nice are very cheap and we managed to go to Italy & Cannes as well.

Have been to Monaco twice for the day, and it's a great day out. But not sure I would want to stay for 3 nights. Nice and Villefranche are fantastic.

I've been to Monaco twice and there is really little to do. Remember this is a crowded place of apartment blocks for greedy tax exiles who don't wish to contribute to hospitals/schools etc in their own country but instead spend it on supercars, yachts, and £50k watches. For that reason I didn't like the place, it kind of left a bad taste in the mouth. Nice on the other had is a much better choice of destination, loads to do there, less pretentious & it would be a better choice for three days especially for non-billionaires. Monaco is a day trip kind of place.

Have done many heli transfers Nice - Monaco (I was an underwriter for the MCA, rather than an international playboy, sadly). Watch the luggage allowance as they'll be incredibly strict on weight.

Booked this for the 30/10. We live in London, Winchmore Hill Station is within 100 metres of my house. Straight to King's Cross. Transfer to the piccadilly line into Heathrow. For us, this is a amazing deal. When would I get a chance to go to Monaco, with a helicopter transfer, for £288.
    Thank you so much op.

Just had the summer there, if you are disabled or have issue with walking then beware of hills, hills and more hills, you could rent a car at Nice airport and explore they Cote D'Azure round to St Tropez, car rental at Nice airport isn't expensive and safer than a helicopter, loads of parking in the cliff car parks in Monaco with elevators to street level, just remember which car park you parked in as it can get confusing, 3 days there may be a bit much so a day out in a car could really expand what you get to see, I don't know the car rental prices in Monaco as we use a company car registered there.

Without sounding too paranoid (ie looking for a catch) - note the size (not weight) restrictions on the helicopter luggage.

(Dimensions) May be less than the plane journey and not sure how strict they would be (presumably a risk of strict and stinging for extra charge on plane compliant checked bag)

It looks to be a cabin bag size (but checked bag weight)...so you might only be allowed a cabin bag (on the heli)

Have I got this wrong? (edited)
    Skwoddie's avatar
    Skwoddie
Spot on. Restrictions are very much stricter, due to the tighter weight tolerances.

Monaco is a great place to visit and you could easily base yourself there for a few days. Train to Nice, Cannes or any town in between is easy.

Monaco itself is small yes but it's on a hillside. Port to say the Palace or Casino is not a 2 minute stroll and its a chunky climb.
This is a good value trip with the chopper transfer factored in.

Monaco can be cheap or expensive as you like. One of our favourite spots there has a €25 3 course set menu. Alternatively you can pay upwards of €10 for a Coke at the Cafe de Paris in Casino Sq.

Amazing offer. Flew with Blade to Monaco from Nice a few months ago & paid the regular €190 ea way.

Amazing value really when it's saving time & actually a functional trip. When you think generic city sight seeing flights are the same price for the same time in the air.

Flight lasts about 8 minutes in the air, & you have a chauffeur (with blade) who will drop you anywhere reasonable for no additional charge once you land (edited)

When I had to rebook summer this year I found it was cheaper just to cancel instead of paying amend fees as the other guy says.

If you use their live chat you should get through in under 15mins in my experience and they can cancel or amend it for you on there might be shut now but worth a try asking to cancel/for the holidays team (edited)

Just make sure you check all the applicable terms.

I'm currently "in discussion" with BA about return transfer eligibility.

My return flight is at 18:00 so of course I'll need to be there earlier to check in bags etc.

An initial query to customer service said I wouldn't be eligible but I called them yesterday and they said that I should be eligible.

Just waiting for an actual confirmation of eligibility. Earlier flights would mean losing most of the last day
    r4w80's avatar
    r4w80
I think the term and conditions says that your return flight needs to depart at least at 19 so that you can return to the airport via helicopter so, if they decide to don't honor that, you can use T&Cs and raise a complaint.

Love Monaco/ Monte Carlo. We had our family summer holiday in Cannes for 3 summers in a row before Covid and before that been a couple of times pre the kids. Always went to Monaco. Being there at night is amazing - watching the cars arrive at the Casino and the view from the Castle side over the harbour at night is incredible. It just has a really nice atmosphere. Never been in winter, either August or May. So tempted now I've seen this.
