Been waiting for these to come back in stock after missing out the first time.
Cheapest way to get a steam deck from Valve, perfect for upgrading the storage as long as you're willing to open it up and do a bit of tinkering.
Each Certified Refurbished Steam Deck has been thoroughly tested to the same high standards as our retail units. Every device goes through a complete factory reset, software update, and an extensive examination involving over 100 tests at one of Valve's facilities. Among the tests are all controller inputs, the audio system, the screen, and internals. Battery health is also assessed to ensure proper functionality and longevity.
All refurbished units meet or even exceed the performance standards of new retail units. Although they may have minor cosmetic blemishes, they provide a reliable, high-quality gaming experience at a lower cost.

sorted byThe Steam Deck is a 7-inch handheld that runs games from Steam (and other PC games), similar to a Nintendo Switch (review). Generally it requires internet access to download games at first, but those games are often playable offline.
Buy the 64GB version and 'for now' try it with a 256GB/512GB/1TB micro sd card (and upgrade the internal drive 'at some point'). CeX sell secondhand 2230 NVME drives (256GB from around £18 delivered).

Emulation takes about 10 mins to set up and it's sorted forever pretty much. I'm not that technology proficient but it seemed extremely intuitive to me
Most games seem to run fine off the MicroSD though providing you've used a decent SD card.
The performance on triple A games is so much better than I thought it would be. Running Cyberpunk at a steady 60fps on a mix between medium and low settings. It looks great. Not that much noticeably different from playing High/ultra settings on my desktop on the small screen.
Also running FIFA 23, Switch games, BOTW Wii U, GTAV.
Epic, EA, Ubi, GOG stores all working natively along with Gamepass cloud streaming.
I overpaid by £241 for the 512gb model back when my place in the queue hadn't come yet and I had a 3 week holiday approaching.
I really missed my Steam deck, its reliable plain and simple. Also over 1/2 the price helps.
Literally like brand new. Can’t complain at all.
Is this what I need or has anyone got recommendations?
As for the ROG, more likely as they have a number of sellers who could fight for competition
