Prices on the delivered items are still higher than in store.

They are too.  That is a bit of a con isn’t it?  So, outside of this deal they charge more than the store because of delivery and then they add £5.99 for delivery on top, if it is grocery?  Even with this deal the higher price means there is still a delivery charge added.  Bit disappointing from them.

I live about 5 minutes away from a Costco, it says they don't deliver to my postcode

You’ll need to move to a property 1 minute closer to the store.

Personally found it a bit of a con last Christmas being emailed a £10 voucher when buying some Airpods online. Found the voucher pretty worthless as you couldn’t use in store only online. Going online found the items l normally buy in store about £20% more plus about £6 delivery charge on groceries. In desperation ordered a pack of socks and to be honest turned out to be average quality.

How is this deal so hot when the prices are already marked up higher than the store..? By the time you’ve added a few things to your basket you’ve basically paid £20 delivery instead of £25.99 surely if you’ve got a Costco membership you have it because you’re able to get there every so often?

    edit:
these are £8.50 in store incl vat51165174-ELP58.jpg (edited)

Only costs £320 for the farmfoods little duck toilet paper.
    Calculations:
    5 18pk for £20 = 90
    1,440 ÷ 90 = 16
    16 × 30 = £320 much cheaper.

Plus if you add on the £9 off a £100 spend at Farmfoods the total cost at Farmfoods would be £293. (edited)

Yeah, not a great deal tbh with the prices being more/making you buy minimum numbers of item for certain things.. each to their own..

I've been looking into this as scrapped my car recently due to ulez, most items are more expensive on line, eh oat milk, 7.49 Vs 8.99

Costco members pay a higher membership price for the card to use in-store for the 'special in-store prices' job dependent... where as anyone can sign up to a subsidised online only membership. (edited)

It's not showing free delivery for me when I enter the website
    Marcelo_Valle's avatar
Actually, never mind - the image still says 5.99 delivery, but the items have a text saying free delivery.
Confusing, but thanks to hotukdeals I looked at it

Many thanks had an online voucher to use up, so at least it wasn't all used up by delivery charges

This actually worked out for me, thanks OP.

I had a £10 voucher after recently joining, was going to go pick up various things but saw the Oral B toothpaste 6 pack of 125ml at £17.49 which is 25p less inc vat than instore, plus free delivery and minus the £10.

Whilst before I wasn't going to bother, as normally they mark up a decent amount online and then add £6 delivery i.e £10 just make it the same as picking up instore. (edited)

I have a membership with Costco, and it’s well worth the fee. But groceries, by and large, are no big deal. Cheap for brands, but for those like me who avoid brands like the plague and stick with identical or near identical own label goods - particularly Aldi and Lidl - savings are few and far between.

Hi guys! Is there any way to join costco membership despite not being qualified from their provided lists of occupations?
    SockySmell's avatar
Yes. Register a company to get a company number. Once you get company number sign up to costco.

Tax returns you just say not started trading yet.
