    Great price.

How would this compare to C1/C2?
    Crossbow's avatar
C1/C2 will have noticeably better audio, more features, refinements, faster processors, twice the number of 2.1 HDMI ports (4 vs only 2 in this), better+faster OS/GUI & 5-year warranties (vs 2 with this at most retailers). The C2 has the evo panel as well.
    Here's a detailed side-by-side specs+features comparison of all 3 displayspecifications.com/en/…bca
This wins by FAR from a price-performance perspective though! (edited)

How do i become a member to buy this tv?
    Crossbow's avatar
A basic annual membership costs £15 costco.co.uk/mem…hip, then you can buy it online & just about everything else they offer for up to a year - online orders only though.
You can add annual membership to your basket & check out at the same time as ordering the TV. (edited)

This is an error. Should be expired
    Addikt's avatar
Not necessarily. IIRC, Costco did a deal a year or two ago for a 55” Hisense for around £500. It could be they’re planning to drop the main price down and then do the remaining £240 as cash back

Edit: found them! Deals last year:

    65” OLED £750 hotukdeals.com/sha…408

    55” OLED £550 hotukdeals.com/sha…814 (edited)

A review of the 55" UK model which scores 3.5/5 which is probably reflective of it's quality. Most big brand OLEDs usually score much higher then again they are a lot more expensive.
    louiselouise's avatar
Thanks for sharing, oooh, they're not too impressed. To be fair, they're reviewing it (January 2023) at its £1299 RRP and reckon it's well worth a look if its price dips (which it will).

Not sure if there's slight variances with the 55 versus 65 inch sets.

This has now been changed to a different model in the magazine that lines up with the £240 off seen previously.

I saw that. Still hoping it will be live. How do you get to the book if you didn't have the direct link? (edited)
  9. Big_Nun's avatar
I've just spoken to someone via Costco's online chat and they confirmed the price is correct for those wondering if it is a pricing error.

I did mention about the "£240 off" not marrying up with the current price and they just stated that the price will be £699.99.

Never call helpline - read carefully! buy it and wait for it to be delivered or cancelled! Many of the deals have been cancelled in past because someone gave a heads up to customer service!

Only issue I have with OLEDS having owned them is the reflectiveness of the screens.

Just finished our extension, don’t think an OLED would work in here?

I have a similar setup as you and find my OLED (LGC2) absolutely fine. However, I do have it on the perpendicular wall as you what yours will be. It will depend on the direct sunlight angle from your roof/bifolds. We have no blinds. 51186330-buOwR.jpg

Is this TV too overkill for the Chromecast TV 4k?
    Crossbow's avatar
    No, it will be great
Just a warning... if you've never owned an OLED TV before, then going back to any older/lesser TV tech is going to be a struggle.
I've owned an LG OLED since 2015 & will never go back or even consider any of the newer tech that's not quite as good when it comes to sheer picture quality, screen uniformity, lack of blacklight bleed or blooming & inky blacks.
Sure, some of the newer tech can go brighter, handle motion better, don't have potential burn-in issues & have a few other gimmicky tricks up their sleeves - but they aren't in the same league in other key areas as mentioned above.

I can't see this being a pricing error as Costco were selling the higher tier 65" A9G OLED for only £100 more last year

I was really set on a LG or SONY OLED but for this price and 5 years warranty..... I could get 2 and still be saving money.
    gunjin's avatar
based on my experience of Hisense TVs you'll be needing that warranty...
  16. shmittty's avatar
I grabbed the Hisense oled 55inch with integrated soundbar almost 2 years ago from costco .

picture is great . Some ‘clipping ‘ on bright scenes in HDR . A bit washed out in HDR GAMING . I found SDR to be an amazing experience .

the software was good until an update last month . It’s got slow and laggy .

Unless there’s been an improvement I wouldn’t recommend this for families as at least on my tv I have to manually change profiles and back and forth from Atmos and DTS .

hope worthing to risk This offer as it was the best price / performance 55" QLED OFFER under 500 quids I have come accross so far, or is any better out there?51180544-7fzPt.jpg
    MilkLizard88's avatar
QLED? Is that a real thing? It sounds something a company would do to scam people into thinking theyre buying an OLED screen
  18. Carlos_Carlitos's avatar
What member plan do I need would the 27£ do?
    Crossbow's avatar
The £15 one will do just fine & you can add to your basket at the time of purchasing the TV. However, with this basic option it is restricted to online-only purchases.
  19. macamask's avatar
Great price for the inches, my honest advice is though, go in and physically look at the set, I owned one 55 Hisense in 2019 and returned it, even with a threshold on quality, it was bad, the whole thing give off an low electric output, the screen you touched it was like a static electric buzz, and you could see through the sides outer edges of the set into the panel, hard to explain but it was shoddy. I’ve added heat for the ridiculously low price OLED. (edited)
    Omex2005's avatar
That's what's putting me off, I have a 55inch hisense in the bedroom and it constantly loses WiFi settings, the apps are glitchy and after two years the hdmi ports don't work anymore.

    BlackwellNik's avatar
Given computer user interfaces tend to have certain parts of the screen static for long periods, and OLEDs suffer burn in, this might not be a great idea for a monitor. Unless, that is, if you like seeing the Windows taskbar, or the MacOS and Linux equivalents, burnt in and always present every time you play videos or games full screen after the first few years of use. All screen types have tradeoffs. I'm unaware of any company which has gotten rid of this problem for OLEDs.

I’ve got the 55” of this. It’s fine for watching anything without too much movement but switch it to say a football match and it’s awful. The players look like they’ve got bubbles around them.

Since this might be a pricing error for a future deal, can this deal get removed for now?
    jammiejam2k69's avatar
Or leave it up because if it's not a pricing error gives people a chance to get it
  31. 1_minute_early's avatar

This is unlikely to last a few secs/mins when it becomes live, so if you can somehow manage to buy one you could probably sell this sealed for a small profit thus lowering the price of your original purchase.
  38. 5Rivers79's avatar
After much thought I think I will pass up on this. It just won’t come close to the refinement of LG or a Sony regardless of price.

I'm still amazed that people are still thinking this is a pricing error or glitch. This magazine would have had to have been designed and produced, proof read, double checked and triple checked. They have had very similar deals in the past as people have linked. It's a legit deal and not a pricing error. It will go live for the quoted price, and your orders will be delivered. (edited)
