Sharp 70FL2KA is a 2023 model. Probably manufactured in the old UMC plant in Czech Republic which Sharp now own.

It's a 50/60hz VA panel. It states LED back light, but not if that is edge lit or direct led lit?

It has 4 hdmi 2.0 ports with earc on one. So if you connect a sound bar via earc you'll effectively loose one and only have 3.

It's only an older dual core soc, so will probably be slow to startup and the smart interface will probably be a bit slow and stuttery.

In conclusion, I would be wary buying such a big screen if it's only edge lit. It could be dull or dim looking. Or even have dark or dull patches in the middle or corners of the screen.

    Yes agree and heated.
But beware the OS on my smaller version is painfully slow to the extent I’ve attached a smart device to watch Netflix etc
    Try before you buy

So cheap these days wow. I remember getting a 49 inch full HD toshiba with 3 additional hdmi ports for 400 and thought that was an absolute bargain back then (13 years ago) (edited)

Costco doing his sense 70 inch for 499.99 I’d say the Hisense is better

Possibly, depends on the model and it's specifications compared to this Sharp.

Sharp was and still sort of is, a leader in LCD and have very high end TV's in Japan and Asia. It's just a shame, that we don't get the higher end sharp models (mini led and oled) over here. We only get the lower end ones.

If you want 70" screen this is probably the cheapest way of doing it. Obviously there will be sacrifices in terms of picture quality and processing but no one is getting 70" cheaper new I think. It depends what you value if you need 120Hz and VRR for gaming, HDR support and full local dimming this isn't the TV for you. If you want a cheap truly massive TV for a decent price this is the TV for you. (edited)

TV arrived today, picture quality and sound seem excellent (I'm sure it's no Mini QLED or whatever level but fine for me). Android TV seems fine though definitely a bit more sluggish than the Shield but totally usable. Hugely impressed for £400

I can only say that none of this applies to this TV. Android is up to date and it is decently snappy. No freezing issues etc. it is a completely different product

This is a fantastic price for such a large screen. Does anyone have experience with similar models, can't find any reviews online?

Seems like a decent deal considering the size / 4k and amount of inputs which nowadays seems very limited to just 2 HDMI ports

To answer some earlier questions on this TV - it has four HDMI sockets and there is an optical audio out as well

How’s the picture when viewing at an angle ? I think it’s a VA panel so just wondering how much the image fades when viewing side on
