Bought a few, we always go to the one at London Victoria, always perfect and filling. Where else can you get a filling lunch for two for £10 in a restaurant in London that's not McDonald's?!
    Cuong_Me's avatar
    You can't even buy 2 McDonald's meals for £10

Good deal but choose which branch to use it at wisely and after reading TripAdvisor reviews. Some are awful. We used a previous discount like this and went to one of the ones in Cambridge and it was disgusting. And our nearest at Rushden Lakes has just been given 0 hygiene rating. I assume these are franchises and seems to be hit and miss as to what experience you will get.
    Greek.Geek's avatar
Which of the two in Cambridge?
  3. fret123's avatar
Check the hygiene ratings for these . My closest one at Rushden has a zero rating
    mugen6's avatar
Just keep in mind that a zero rating doesn't always mean it is a dirty or unsafe place to eat:

"The FSA also rates businesses on the condition of the building and the standard of the records they keep. As such, one missed entry in an official record or a part of the building in poor repair that the public may not even use can lead to a 0 rating."

Anyone been to the one in York?
    Samantharrrrrrrr's avatar
Yes we used an afternoon tea voucher there last month, food was lovely and staff pleasant.
  5. Talha_Rehman's avatar
how would this work for a family of five? 2 adults are covered with the voucher but what about three kids all below the age of 10?
    AAARRR's avatar
If you are happy to share the food, then just use 2 vouchers, but one will be without the drink... Or just use one voucher for adults and go for kids meal for the kids

Do they have vegetarian options? Both my mum and sister are vegetarian, may be a nice pre Christmas treat for them as my mum will be celebrating with me this year
    s10's avatar
They do have vegetarian option for afternoon tea but it is genuinely so so bad
  7. x80ssm's avatar
Can i use multiple at the same time with a group of people?
    Dona3853's avatar
    Yes you can.

I know this has expired now but it will come up again. You just buy them separately and apply the code each time. Last time we went as a group of 5 and used 2x vouchers and ordered extra chips and just shared everything. There was plenty for 5 people.
  8. Pricklerickle's avatar
Last time I went food oka but the chairs all have masking tap on them and holes lol

Is anyone's buyagift voucher for this also taking a long time to be emailed through to you?
    blitza09's avatar
Yeah i havent got anything through yet... had been about an hour

Got my voucher and the instructions say go to the website and book. Such a shame it's not just turn up like the website said.
    JPS's avatar
Don't worry, there is no booking required, this is what is stated when you enter the voucher details:

"There is no need to pre-book your experience simply present your voucher on arrival although in peak times there may be a wait of up to 20 minutes to be seated." (edited)

Lunch for two is £25.99 (so 99p more than the afternoon tea with the code). This looks better value.
    LFis's avatar
I have had the lunch before and it was good - sadly it won’t let me use the voucher for this one
  12. clint.thrust's avatar
The one we had wasn't worth a tenner, never mind the full asking price.
    TheWubbard's avatar
Awful food. Tiny limp sandwiches and dried out cake. I agree. Not even worth a fiver each. I'd rather go to the greasy spoon round the corner or get some sarnies from Tescos.

Useful voucher though. Just make sure you spend it on something decent.
  13. Haircut_100's avatar
I genuinely thought that Patisserie Valerie went bust a couple of years back and was gone, didn’t realise it was still around.
    michaeljb's avatar
Yeah same, sure I remember some of the head honchos in court over fraud or embezzlement or the likes.
  14. shnako's avatar
This is an absolute bargain for £10. Lots of people complaining here like they paid £200 to eat at a Michelin star restaurant.
  15. jbia's avatar
    Wow! Thank's for sharing!
  16. CharlotteCapstick's avatar
Purchased , thanks . Nice little Christmas treat for daughter

    JPS's avatar
Same, used to use that all the time. Unbeatable value and good food.
  22. JPS's avatar
Might catch one or 2 of you in York this Sunday, what a bargain
  23. Tony_H's avatar
    It works again!!!
  24. craig816's avatar
Agree with the comments here. Avoid at all costs - food and service is not worth it even if they pay you to eat there!
  25. consolegamer's avatar
These are really good value if you have one near you.
  26. kjs31's avatar
My niece bought this for me last year. I went with my niece and SIL (we shared one voucher) and it was a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon alongside some retail therapy.
  27. postyn17's avatar
Just wondering do people tip in a place they regularly dine at. We always tip and the service is always better. £5 tip on this offer is only £15. I bought 5, little treats like this for us to use throughout the year.

Avoid! Rubbish service and food. Wouldnt buy it for £1
  29. kapil.paul's avatar
is this only valid on this schem or anything else I can buy
  30. Fp20's avatar
Have they removed the option to add a code? I just keep getting a message saying "Sorry, no further discounts are available on this exceptional price."
    doesitmatter's avatar
Not on this deal. For lunch deal - yes.

Went to the York patisserie valerie for this deal, it was disappointing. I cant recommend it im afraid
  32. happenstance's avatar
Is mass market made in factories and deserts frozen and defrosted. But for the price it's decent.

    Just turn up
  36. stig77's avatar
Thanks, lots of comments saying how gross pat Val is, they’re not wrong, they’re being ran to the ground but for a tenner it’s a great deal!
