Luxor was a Swedish home electronics and computer manufacturer located in Motala, established in 1923 and acquired by Nokia in 1985. The brand name is now owned by Turkish company Vestel and is used for televisions sold in the Swedish market.

The Argos Bush 65" Qled at £399 looks better.

If you can afford it best settle on that high end TCL 55C745K 55 Inch for £500.
Bigger is not really better. (edited)

    from their wikipedia page...

Vestel is a Turkish home and professional appliances manufacturing company consisting of 18 companies specialised in electronics, major appliances and information technology. Vestel's headquarters and production plant are located in Manisa, while the company's parent conglomerate is the Istanbul based Zorlu Holding.

Vestel, together with its subsidiary brands has a significant share in the European market of consumer electronics and home appliances, in particular TV sets.[2] As of 2006, Vestel was the largest TV producer in Europe with more than 8 million units sold, accounting for a quarter of the European market.[2] Vestel also has a subsidiary brand Vestfrost, used for white goods, and Luxor, used for televisions, sold in the Nordic countries. In 2014, Vestel entered the smartphone market.

Most TVs produced by Vestel are sold under licensed brand names such as Toshiba, Hitachi, Polaroid, JVC, Bush, Alba and many own brand labels.

In 2021, Vestel Customer Services received two awards from the 4th CX Awards Turkey and one award from the Istanbul Marketing Awards.[3]

It's back lit, but no local dimming.

Thanks, bought twelve. Cheaper than getting a decorator to paper a feature wall.

70" for 400 notes?? Need to read feedback first

Seems to be only one review from someone who purchased it from Very. It's certainly a bargain price for a 70" TV

My Polaroid from Asda bought 10 years ago still going strong even though its on several hours every day. I would take a gamble at this price....a lot of screen for your money so long as you aren't a gamer.
    sim11's avatar
I'm sorry but no, you fail to mention the tv size, I'm guessing 10 yrs old I'm guessing 50" at best and you've got used to it. 70 inches vessel picture in the avg sized living room will be horrendous, where to start, motion, sound, colour all will be sub par. Just noooooo

    chancooluk's avatar
It's capable of 60hz @ 4K. listed as 50hz as it confirms to PAL broadcasting standards.

Too big for my room though could knock a wall down and double its size, except the wall is holding up the roof purlin (builders always put the supports in the most annoying places) but great price and thanks for the list of Vestel brands (to probably avoid).

Same company. This would be a decent deal but for that QLED for less.

The Digihome variant looks the same TV. (edited)

Freeview play is a liability that will make you pay TV license fees
    Joeagle98's avatar
The app needs tuning so as long as you don't sign in or connect your aerial cable then you don't have to worry about a TV licence. Plus as long as you don't watch something as it's being broadcast then forget about paying for a licence.

Can Freeview play be removed from this Tv as I don’t pay for Rubbish BBC extortion Tv licence ??

No insurance was offered. Is there a non-ripoff specialist company for this kind of thing?

I have a small luxor tv which is probably over 10 years old. When you want to turn it up, you have to unplug it first and after you plug it back you need to press the power button at exactly right moment after the power light comes on if you miss it won't power on and you need to start again. Sometimes it's making a banging noise after switching on and you need to restart it again. I love this TV - seems to be on its last leg but never gave up and is still working.
    Joeagle98's avatar
I had the exact same issue with a sharp TV. I fixed it by swapping the fuse at the plug socket. Turns out it was installed wonky and it hadn't blown but 1 side was more worn than the other and the plastic was starting to melt away. Issue resolved and haven't had a problem since.
