Horrible reviews if for anything else than pure TV. Streaming and gaming is apparently horrendous. 3.8 star review means I'd stay away. Besides if you buy a good TV from richersounds you get 6 years free warranty. I'd go for any brand with that.

I don't trust Amazon reviews these days. It's probably better to look at reviews from other sources.

Edit. I don't know what I'm talking about. Lol The specs are insane for that price. Any reviews? Edit seems great to watch stuff on but vrr makes the image mess up when gaming. And no hdmi 2.1 (edited)

Check av forums they have an owners thread lots happy bar a small issue with dv content on the inbuilt players works fine on external apps

How does this compare with the 805? Is this an earlier model or a higher model?
Aretak
It's the next model up. Higher peak brightness (advertised as 2000 nits versus 1300 nits) and quantum dot technology seem to be the big additions.

This isn't OLED or particularly large. Why is it commanding this kind of price?

Seems more of a "dumb" TV to plug a streaming device into. That's probably going to get the best out of it. It should also excel in bright rooms with the peak brightness and HDR.
Software support as a whole looks questionable on both the gaming front and apps. I know TCL have had issues with gaming before and they never sorted it out via updates. So you take your chances on that front.

I noticed for anyone that is interested that they're also doing the 50QM8B for £579. 11% saving on this.
So what do you lose for that money? 5 inches (ahem) and 700 nits brightness. Apart from that the TVs should be of very similar capability, 1300 nits is plenty enough, wouldn't be surprised if this thing is blowing highlights a lot anyway at those upper ranges.
Could be a interesting option especially for someone that wants a slightly more compact TV but similar qualities. (edited)
