Cancelled 2 sims over the phone. One was done within 5 mins of me making the call. Other took 20 mins and it was like pulling teeth explaining it over and over. Cancelling thrid one now but been passed back and fourth between customer service and cancellations.

If you are within 14 days of the cooling off period then go to customer service team by pressing 6 then 2 on 03448090202. Explain to them you're within 14 day period and you want to cancel the contract and device has been paid off. Pray you don't get someone incompetent and it should be very smooth. If they try sending you to cancellations refuse as they'll just send you back again. On call to cancel third now and it's like pulling teeth out it's that painful.

No termination fees also so you wotn be charged the 19 pound.

Edit - you won't receive confirmation of cancellation until the final bill which is after the 14 day cooling off period. It also takes 24-48 hours to process. I will call them up tomorrow to confirm it's been done just to be sure and update evryone here. (edited)
    blake4100's avatar
    did you activate the sims?
  4. edd1234's avatar
This has all gone incredibly smoothly for me (done it twice - once for myself and once for someone else)

    For the cashback:
    - For the order number, I used the one of the format "ms-123456..."
    - For the order confirmation, I printed to PDF copy of the email titled "We've received your order. You're all set. (...)"
    - Used £349 as the purchase price
    - For the IMEI, I used a picture of the phone on the *#06# screen

This was approved within a couple of minutes of submitting the cashback application.

    For the cancellation:
    - Called 0344 809 0202 during the morning (10-11am). <10 min wait time.
    - "I'd like to cancel my airtime plan within the 14-day cooling off period".
    - If they mentioned the phone I just said it was already paid off, and wasn't tied to the SIM which was a monthly rolling contract.
    - Asked them to confirm there'd be no charges as I hadn't activated the SIM and was within the cooling off period.
    - Was transferred between departments a couple of times, but didn't take too long.
    - I think being friendly can make a difference with some of the advisors. If you go in too aggressive they'll think you're trying to con your way out of paying something, even though you're not.

This worked on the first attempt, and phoned back a couple of days later to confirm that it has actually been cancelled with no charges.

    Good luck to others.

Great deal. How does this compare to the Pixel 6? Worth the upgrade?
    hbjatuk's avatar
I wouldn't say this is an upgrade. From what I have read the battery isn't great and you have a better camera in the pixel 6.
  8. Stevengude's avatar
Just a note if you do want to stay with O2 for your monthly airtime - for example you have Virgin Media Volt add on- take this deal out and then go on live chat and request they match the 25gb for £8 per month deal available for new customers. They ended up offering me 30gb plus the double data for volt so 60gb for £8. It cancels the £19 deal and puts you straight on this. Also get 3 months disney plus.

Hopefully this helps anyone in same situation I was in

Great deal, I paid this for the S21fe just a couple of month ago
    J.D's avatar
The S21 is a better phone in many ways, has Victus glass which is much more scratch resistant. Lighter and slimmer bezels yet same battery and screen size. The main advantage of the S23 FE over S21 FE is the camera performance.
  10. Sam_5ez's avatar
Might use this to get £410 trade in value towards the s23 on samsung.com. Then i can upgrade to the s23 for next to nothing.
    Immoraliste's avatar
EDIT: per @Google_Userps3 below, S23FE will NOT be accepted as 'Any S23' as a trade-in.

If they allow S23 FE trade-in under 'Any S23' (£410), then that would be a great deal.

    c. £210 net for the S23FE (after cashback / selling Buds FE for £40).
    Then c. £110 net for the S23 (after S23FE trade-in / £150 off code / 10% refer-a-friend code / 5% App code / cashback / selling Buds FE for £40).

£320 net for S23, then sell your existing phone. (I have a S10 Lite that CEX will pay £93 for, so S23 would end up as c. £227 net).

    ---

I ordered an S23 yesterday with an S5 trade-in (any broken Samsung £100), using all the codes, for what should be £342 net (after cashback / selling Buds), then sell the S10 Lite to get down to £249 net. But your way is even cheaper, assuming O2 don't charge the first month before cancellation.

£210 net for S23FE (after cashback / selling Buds FE), then selling S10 Lite to get down to £117 net, is also super cheap. Lots of well-priced Samsung upgrade options atm. (edited)

Please people nobody stress; you have an Airtime Plan which is a monthly rolling plan, you are only committed to 30 days at a time for £19 and can stop/cancel the Airtime Plan any time you like.
You have a Device Plan, the 2 plans are only linked for as long as you have money left to pay on the Device Plan, you paid for your Device in full upfront, so you never really had a Device Plan. SO THERE IS NO LINK, THERE IS NO PACKAGE.

The £100 Cashback and Ear Buds is offered by Samsung directly, you logged on to samsungoffers.claims/win…-GB
so nothing to do with O2.
Therefore ignore anything about losing your Cashback, submit the Cashback Claim before you cancel your Airtime Plan, if you are a worrier. My approval came through in less than 10 mins from Samsung.

    Just be polite but firm.

If you are talking to somebody who is being persistently obstructive, just hang up and call back after having a cup of tea/coffee. (edited)
    biggboss's avatar
Thanks for the clarification, regarding the £100 cashback claim, can we only submit claim once receiving the device. (edited)

Can confirm this is the best way to go.

I was told my contract was cancelled 2 days ago when it was not. I suspect that the agents can't actually process it properly until the first bill is generated as you are essentially not seen as a customer yet from the system's point of view, so there's nothing to cancel.

Go with the steps suggested above.

It's an exteremely long thread so apologies if answer before. The cashback is valid until 25 January, so if you dont receive the device (IMEI) by then, does one miss out on the cashback and buds. Cheers

Just thought I’d paste my reply to the person who responded incorrectly to you:

    https://samsungoffers.claims/winterdeals/S23trio/en-GB/terms

    Read point 9.

You have until the 25th of Jan to purchase. 25th of Jan is not the deadline for any claims.

The relevant bit for any late deliveries:

In the event of late delivery of the Participant's Promotion Product, they will be able to register and save their information in the Claim form during the Claim Period and return to complete and submit their Claim within thirty (30) days of delivery.

You do have to remember to start the form within 30 days of purchase and remember to complete it within 30 days of delivery.

    Hope that makes sense

Does anyone know how to get around the "OK" after the pin code entry.

I know on my last Samsung (S21) there was an option to just enter the pin code without then pressing OK each time, that was a just a case of ticking a box when setting up etc.

However this option doesn't appear on this S23 FE model.
    Smartguy1's avatar
That option is there on the S20 FE, perhaps the same for the S23 FE.

    Go to:

    Settings
    Security & Privacy
    Lock Screen
Screen Lock - you have to enter your PIN here
    PIN
Option is in this section - Confirm PIN without tapping OK

thanks @MrSwitch, purchased. Quick questions regarding claim from Samsung, £100 + Free Buds + 12mths Disney. All 3 above can be claimed even cancel O2 on day 1 (After Receiving the phone)?

    Following are the processes :-
    - Wait phone arrived
    - Claim Samsung Perks (£100, Buds, Disney)
    - Cancel O2 (Day 1 received phone and activate Number)

or need to wait for the Samsung Perks to arrived (i.e. the £100 + Buds) first?
    MrSwitch's avatar
    Author
You can claim as soon as you have the O2 invoice, which will come when the phone arrives, then cancel the airtime once you have that
  21. Moss.b's avatar
It's a lot of hassle. I done the stac method and people said it should cancel. But I wanted to make sure so contacted them to ensure it's cancelled after they said yes, got billed. I reckon pac/stac method is best way to cancel, so you don't have to put up with customers service that tells you you can't cancel. But you still probably have to pay a month which you can get back if you contact them which is a painful experience. But I would just add that month to the final cost for peace of mind and you will save a lot of time.

Do u need to open box to claim cashback and buds?
    liamo's avatar
People aren't, and are taking a picture of the IMEI from the box, and it does get auto approved.

But Samsung can come back to you a week or 2 later and say they need a picture of the actual serial number or IMEI from the device.

That's happened to me in the past with auto approved claims.

So you have to wait and see

Decent upgrade from Poco F2 Pro does anyone know?

    m.gsmarena.com/siz…220

Samsung is newer model compared to Poco F2 Pro. 2023 to 2020, so good for security updates.

Samsung has a better display and chipset. IP 68 water resistant, smaller body, 4k video but slightly smaller battery. Also better Antutu and Geek bench scores.

I too was tempted by the offer but decided against it as my F2 Pro is
fine for what use I have of my mobile.

Most claims are automatically approved with the phone box being perfectly sufficient (I have done a number of claims with S23 before where this was no problem). However, if your claim is flagged for manual check which it has been for me, it is possible that the team reviewing the information will request the image from the device itself.

Is the 'cancel on day one' aspect so that you also get the £19 airtime refunded too?
OR is it kind of giving 30 days notice to cancel the airtime after one month? (As in if you cancel on day 2, 3 etc you may have to pay for 2 months @£19 per month?)
    jd121's avatar
According to their terms and conditions you can cancel within 14 days and only pay for what you use. I ain't gonna be using anything so I expect the full 19 pound. I remember last time I paid nothing when I did something similar

once we get the PAC code from O2, where's is the best free / cheap option to transfer it to (as it'll never really be used again) ?
    MK5HashTag66's avatar
Quite a few free go to options for porting out; PAYG SIMS from Three (3) mobile and Asda mobile. For a value service plan to use at the end; 3 or 6 month promotional period Lebara SIMS (operates on Vodafones mobile network, always check your coverage) - active offers at the time of typing that are available, for example: £0.49p/m, 1GB data for 3 months and £1.90 p/m, 15GB data for 6 months. If you need the SIM urgently, by tomorrow for instance, you can pop in store for Three and Asda mobile SIMS, but you would have to wait for a Lebara SIM to be delivered.
One point about porting mobile numbers (whether to keep a mobile number or just close off a SIM like a lot of people will be doing with the 1 month rolling SIM offer from this thread) to be aware of, is that the earliest date that you can select to switch, I think, is usually two days ahead of the day you are submitting the request to do so.
