I’d wait, about 50 new monitors have just been announced at CES with more on the way.

I imagine playing FIFA on this you'll be able to see the whole pitch

jeez im looking for a wide monitor, i was thinking a 34" was too big and would go for a 29... this is bonkers wide
    kiranmk2's avatar
The aspect ratio is what's important. a 34" ultrawide is typically 21:9 and represents the same vertical height (and often, resolution) as a 27" 16:9 screen. Think of it as ~1.5 27" monitors in terms of width.

A 49" super ultrawide is 32:9 but still repreesnts the same vertical height as a 27" 16:9 screen and can be thought of as 2 27" monitors in terms of width.

This model is 45" & 32:9 meaning it will be like having 2 25-26" monitors side by side.

4 other very similar monitors (size, res, panel type, KVM, year, etc, etc) by LG, HP, Acer & AOC compared displayspecifications.com/en/…0d9

The AOC wouldn't fit due to the 4-comparison limit, so here's another comparison (swapped out the Acer for this) displayspecifications.com/en/…0df

Of the 5, I think this Lenovo is by far (?) the cheapest one currently. (edited)

Must have been a Friday night when they wrote that!

I have a monitor with similar specs, if gaming you need a powerful graphics card for it to run half decent.

can't stress this enough, I have the Samsung G9 and it puts a strain on a 3070ti
  7. hawksface's avatar
Almost as wide as my desk!

Worth noting that for roughly the same price you can currently get the 34" UW Alienware QD-OLED, for those that don't need it quite so wide.

    Where?
  8. Cuddl3s's avatar
Great size this, i had a similar one and i liked it much more than the Samsung 49 inch ones.

Ditto, my Samsung had limited tech features and the build quality felt cheap. I wouldn't get one of their monitors again. Replaced it with an AOC Agon, big improvement for the same money... and also took up less of my small-ish desk because the stand doesn't jut forward so much.

I'd consider the Lenovo though, it's difficult to get 49" monitors at a sane price. Outstanding for productivty, I'm on the fence about them for other purposes.

    VA panel.
  12. ioweng's avatar
I'd need to put a hole in the wall of the box room and share the screen with the neighbours
  13. Ollie222's avatar
That looks a nice bit of kit for productivity and I'm quite tempted.

I use a 35" wide screen and that allows 2 normal full screen apps side by side, this would allow 3.
    cava83's avatar
Precisely why I'm thinking of this. I have 38" and it's not enough. I do wish they did 1600 wide, for this height.
  14. anuruddha's avatar
Playing battlefield on this will be great. Currently I'm using 34 inches curve ultra wide monitor
    half_empty_soul_'s avatar
I'm using Samsung g9 49 inch, moved from 34 inch and to be honest for a FPS games I prefer 34 factor for single players 49 is the way.

the DELL 34 inch QD OLED 165hz is £743
unlike those terrible LG white OLED tvs pretending to be monitors, this is the real deal
i think dell is stil doing the 3 year burn in warranty (essential)

165 hz on OLED is like 240 hz on LCD screens- its gorgeous

I have that monitor and I can confirm it is on another level. Great stuff
  16. acliff's avatar
Looks like an excellent size, better fit for more desks than the 49" giants.

I got a 38" ultra wide, slightly less imposing on the desk, and like the 3840x1600 resolution, but my HP doesn't have a best specs for gaming. Easier on my graphics card though!
  17. thulsa18's avatar
I think this monitor is perfect for me. I wonder if they give guarantees on their statement

ensuring victory is not a possibility but a certainty

This is just a monitor. A very large monitor.
  24. TheMagnificentSpoon's avatar
Well this would be the perfect monitor for me.

Do I need it? No? But do I want it…?

Could never go back after getting a 34 wide-screen, gaming is awesome and the extra real estate when on desktop and internet is awesome
    sandmanNI's avatar
How about work? I've two monitors right now, but considering 1 big curved one instead of splitting over 2 screens with a gap in the middle
  26. psubrit's avatar
So looks like this is stock clearance and this model has been discontinued. It's not available directly through Lenovo and no one sells it.
  27. Gh0st1's avatar
