Over £100 difference between this 16GB and the 8GB version. Is it worth it?

Certainly not from a materials cost. 8GB is like $25 and that's not "Nvidia, humongous order discount" prices.

And there's some ASUS tax on there, you can get a Zotac or MSI Ventus 4060ti 16GB from Scan for ~£430.

The 4060ti is also on PCI-E 8x bandwidth instead of 16x, and a 128bit bus, so it's hard to see a scenario where a game that needed the full 16GB would benefit from it on the 4060's graphics performance.

If you want to run a local LLM then 16GB can hold 13B parameter models.

For about £510 you can get a 4070 with 12GB. That's about 12% more money for about 30% more actual onscreen performance that you can either throw at frame rate or higher details.

Or a PowerColour Radeon 6800 16GB for about £459 from Scan if DLSS and Ray tracing aren't as important to you. But that's a full 16x PCI-E card and 16GB on 256bit bus, and about 15% faster
