Are you drunk? Where are you getting one for £500?

Is this still a deal at 1899? Seems it's gone up on their website. Also does it need more storage? If so what's the recommendation?

Genuine question Whilst I know for certain in terms of GPU a 3080 vs a 1080 would see huge FPS increase at 1440 144mhz I am however uncertain if my slightly aged CPU (6700k i7 Skylake, clocked at 4.2Ghz) would see much gain from upgrading it It seems marginal from my research and pottentially money thrown away (purely a gaming rig, with minor office work)

Do you have anything right now? Or does that £2k need to include monitor, keyboard, mouse etc? Also, what are you going to be using it for? All well and good slapping a Ryzen 3900x, but if you're only using it for gaming it'll be a complete waste of money.

3080 start at £650 for founders and I've seen them go up to £850

Eagle OC. No ETA, but I'm cutting them some slack for now, I've been their side of it. I'll chase in a couple of days.

What one did you go for and when is the ETA for stock? Woefully low numbers of 3080s out there. Cannot imagine what the 3090/3070 launches will be like lol

Don't want a refund, I'll just consider it a pre-order at that price, for a few more days anyway.

Yeah but they took orders for stock they were 100% clear they didn't have. Thats not good. Lets see how quickly they refund peeps.

Yep, overclockers. Comms have been good with them so far in fairness, I feel they are telling people as much as they know. They got completely overwhelmed and took too many orders, which is frustrating, but their site took such a hammering I'm not sure they could've controlled it. I've managed websites myself, and had crazy demand sell outs, I do sympathise.

As someone who has an rtx card i have to admit that ray tracing isn't that great. Not worth a performance hit. It will run better on these and the new amd cards but still not something worth bothering about and they will still take a hit. Big navi is going to be at least double a 5700xt i'd imagine.

If you absolutely want a card now, get the 5700xt but we're about to find out what AMD have cooking on the 28th; that'll be a lot more future proof in terms of ray tracing support etc

5700xt is enough. Ofc these are better but not twice as good. You are probably going to bottleneck this a little anyhow. If they were £699 maybe but not at this money.

This or the rx 5700xt? Do I need anything better than the 5700xt? Want to play vr aswell as the aaa games out

No it doesn't, I use a 2080 with Watch Dogs 2 at 1440p and i'm not bound by my VRAM. I tested a lot of modern games (Warzone/Control/Far Cry/AC Odyssey etc) at 1440p and the majority used around 6GB VRAM at the higher end. This is with the new update to MSI afterburner that lets you monitor ACTUAL VRAM usage, not just how much is being cached.
