Why does it say made with 100% chicken breast fillet if it's 66% chicken breast fillet? Made with 100% chicken breast fillet means we only use chicken breast fillet. The other 34% relates to other ingredients such as the coating.. Chicken breast fillets in a buttermilk breadcrumb coating. Made with 100% Chicken Breast Fillet. Luxury.

Birds Eye ultimate chicken burgers contain 60% chicken and are £4 for 2 so these are a bargain 🔥

    ultimate...luxury....premium

the jargon in the chicken breast industry is mind-boggling!

I made a big mistake buying food from Iceland, their meat comes from China and the quality is diabolical. There is grey matter and gelatinous texture to their cooked meat. I blended the chicken with water to be able to have it and not waste it and it felt like being on I'm A Celeb. The perks of Brexit!

When you say meat, what are you referring to?

66% chicken and they call it luxury
    Bargainz666's avatar
Well they chicken itself is 100% chicken breast fillet. The other 34% is the coatings ingredients. If you want 100% chicken you are looking to buy plain chicken. 😋

I was in Iceland recently, every pack of chicken I picked up was chicken from CHINA. Strange how the website doesn't state the origin.

They rarely do, and if they do, then you have to search high and low to find it. All that stuff after the horse meat crisis, and they can track the meat right back to the farm it came from.
That only applies to fresh meat.
Frozen meat.... well for some reason, that seems to be exempt.
    And I ask WHY????
    is it exempt (edited)

    *Ingredients*
Chicken Breast Fillet (66%), Wheat Flour (Wheat Flour, Calcium Carbonate, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin), Rapeseed Oil, Water, Breadcrumbs (Wheat Flour (Wheat Flour, Calcium Carbonate, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin), Yeast, Salt), Tapioca Starch, Salt, Wheat Gluten, Dried Buttermilk, Maize Starch, Yeast Extract, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Ground White Pepper, Sugar, Ground Black Pepper, Ground Thyme, Acid: Lactic Acid, Paprika Extract, Black Pepper Extract

So the fillets are 66% chicken, of which is of 100% chicken breast fillet, no reconstituted chicken here.
The remaining 34% is made up of all the other ingredients on the above list.
As with most frozen chicken where it is not clearly stated on the packaging, probably not from the UK. Could be Brazil, Thailand, Poland etc. Will have a look next time I'm in.

The packaging does not give a cluck as to which country the chicken breast comes from.
    This is all it says

    Packed in the U.K.
Supplied in the U.K. by: Westbridge Foods LTD., Malvern, WR14 1JJ, UK.

Supplied in the EU by: Westbridge Foods France, 250 bis boulevard Saint-Germain, 75007 Paris, France"
    52347865-nEGh1.jpg
Probably reduced from £4 to £2 as the best before date is 7th April, at least the one I got has that date.
